Eleven. An odd number of double ones. Unbeaten. Not odd, but fewer teams have that record each week. Six left. Three or four games remain in the season. Here are ten of those games, but not many of these are unbeaten. Guess the winners and the score of the last one, which is unbeaten Baylor hosting once beaten Oklahoma. It’s the Big 12, which might make this game have an “unreasonable” score, according to Chas. He means that scores don’t go over 21 a lot. But this is the Big 12.
Rankings are the Playoff Rankings; team records are in parentheses. Choose by noon Saturday.

Excuse the novice question, but how can an undefeated team (Houston, 9-0) be ranked lower, at #24, than a team who’s played as many games as they have, and has lost once (#21 Memphis, 8-1)? Are they in different conferences?
Obviously, I don’t know who’s who yet, or much of anything about this. 🙂

6 Arrows- the rankings are based on several things, strength of schedule being among them. If a team plays a lot of games against teams with losing records (a weak schedule) they get a lower ranking than a team that plays traditionally winning teams. That is part of why teams from the SEC tend to have high rankings because they play tougher teams.

I wish South Carolina was playing Memphis. The receiver caught the punted ball on the four yard line to keep it going into the end zone for a touchback.

It just occurred to me. A Carolina receiver was almost as bad.
He caught the ball in the end zone and ran it out to just beyond the ten yard line.
Florida won 24/14, but it wasn’t really that close. The Gators really beat up on the Gamecocks.

And the winner is Ricky W. with 8 correct and one game to go. IBNO and Tychicus have 7 correct. Boise and New Mexico are in the middle of the 3rd quarter. But since everyone chose Boise to win, it doesn’t matter.the result, Ricky will still be one game ahead of the others. Congrats Ricky Weaver!
I’ll post totals tomorrow.
So, what will be the next tie breaker game?

We just did Baylor, so let’s pick Michigan State vs. Ohio State.

Ricky, I’m thinking of Notre Dame.
Every time I go some place, it is a jinx on their football program.

Chas, My schools (SMU and Texas) have also had a bad year. (SMU has had a bad 25 years.) At least neither of us went to Kansas.

Ooh. Kansas? When MU was in the Big 12, KU was a four letter word. Speaking of the number four, that was AJ’s score this week. Chas and I got 5, so not much better. Mumsee and kbells got 6, while Tychicus and IBNO scored 7. And of course, our winner was Ricky with 8, after taking four weeks off (there’s that number again).
Here are the game scores:
UGA surprised Auburn 20-13.
FSU doubled up on NC State 34-17.
Bama showed the Rebels whose better 31-6.
New Mexico really surprised us all by beating Boise State 31-24.
Houston one-upped Memphis 35-34.
No surprise that Nebraska won over Rutgers 31-14.
The big surprise was Oregon over Stanford 38-36.
North Carolina blew away the Hurricanes 59-21.
In the Pillow Fight, UTSA out punched Charlotte 30-27 in overtime.
And the tie breaker was Oklahoma by 10 over Baylor, 44-34.
Another round next week. Stay tuned.
