Prayer Requests 11-10-15

Anyone have something to share?

Psalm 9:1-11

¹I will praise thee, O Lord, with my whole heart; I will shew forth all thy marvellous works.

I will be glad and rejoice in thee: I will sing praise to thy name, O thou most High.

When mine enemies are turned back, they shall fall and perish at thy presence.

For thou hast maintained my right and my cause; thou satest in the throne judging right.

Thou hast rebuked the heathen, thou hast destroyed the wicked, thou hast put out their name for ever and ever.

O thou enemy, destructions are come to a perpetual end: and thou hast destroyed cities; their memorial is perished with them.

But the Lord shall endure for ever: he hath prepared his throne for judgment.

And he shall judge the world in righteousness, he shall minister judgment to the people in uprightness.

The Lord also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble.

10 And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, Lord, hast not forsaken them that seek thee.

11 Sing praises to the Lord, which dwelleth in Zion: declare among the people his doings.

  1. Good morning. One big need that we currently have is for our financial support. We’ve been on the mission field for almost 30 years, and in all of that time, there was only one other time when a lack of financial support was an issue for us. However, our support income has dropped about 27% in the last year. Furthermore, our home church in Texas will be decreasing our financial support (and that of the other long-term missionaries) by $200 monthly due to a re-structuring, in order to create new pathways for involvement and growth that will hopefully fuel the next generation’s participation in missions. So please pray with us for God to meet this need – we’re trusting Him for His provision.

  2. Also, we just learned that a friend and former co-worker (from our first years when we were based in Vienna and ministering in various countries of Communist Eastern Europe) who had cancer has just gone to be with the Lord. I believe that Diana was 53 years old, and she leaves her Slovak husband (she was British) and teenage son. When she and my wife would sing together, they would make a beautiful sound unto the Lord.

One time when some of our team members were able to see and greet the Prince and Princess of Wales in Vienna. Diana made a comment like, “If this is how my knees are shaking now, I can’t imagine how it will be when I meet the Lord.” Now she knows!

The biggest thing I learned from Diana is that whenever we were facing a difficult trial or barrier, she would immediately respond, “Let’s commit it to the Lord in prayer.” Though our flesh resists, that’s always the right response – we (ourselves) can’t, but He (through us) can. Before we do anything else, let’s pray. Even to this day, I struggle to apply that simple truth. However, Diana’s words are always there before me as a challenge and encouragement, and I hope that they will be for you all as well.

  3. Very sorry for above, Tychichus.

On our end, Stargazer is on his way right now to his first in-person interview (third one with this company). We’re all excited, but please pray the Lord’s will be done here– if this is the job for him, amen.

    Thanks.

  4. Amen. Prayers for all of the above.

Thanks for sharing Diana’s wise words with us, Tychicus. Prayer is too often a last resort for me. I try (and try again, repeat N times) to do things in my own strength, and when that fails, then finally comes prayer.

I appreciate your transparency, and the exhortation you provided in your 8:54 post. You’re not alone in your struggle.

  5. Heavenly Father,

You are above all, You see all of us as a mixture of simpleness and complexity, put together according to Your plans and purposes. Thank You that You always know better than we do for You own the big pictures from the overall massive outside and all inside intricacies. There is no other entity like You. You are superlative to all else known to people. Thank You for the trust You are deserving of. I do lift up the missionaries who are in need around the world for financial and prayer support. So many are at this time having to find new routes to support. Please open pathways before unknown to ways of generating enough money and supplies for continuing valuable outreach. May the name of Jesus continue to spread worldwide despite lack of funding so everyone can witness to a greater extent the power in that name above all names. Please, in particular, I ask that You send a generous supply of what You know is needed by Tychicus, Jo, Joanne, and Roscuro.

Thank You for Your answers to our prayers. Your care is precious and makes us feel valued. In the name of Jesus, Amen

  6. Heavenly Father,

I ask that Stargazer will do well in the interview and have a clear vision as to how he should move forward if decisions are to be made. Thank You for encouraging him with this opportunity and imagined new purpose to his life.

Please, Lord, also help Lee to find his way to secure employment. And my brother, too. As people get older, they have wisdom and experience that should give them favor with employers. Please help them to still feel competitive and not feel like they are sidelined by maturity in our youthful culture. Especially in my brother’s pharmacy industry that can be an issue. Please be the difference maker in the needs of these hard working older men. May You be their strength during any times of perceived weakness.

Lord, I continue lifting up Kim ‘ s need for BG to get on the straight path that honors You above all. May she develop a healthy fear of You that will be greater than the sway of unhealthy relationships. I pray You will relieve her of any kind of developing addiction. Please help her to be what You envisioned when You gave her life.

Thank You for the hope felt while waiting for Your answers to prayer. You are always up to something good. Praise You! In Jesus’ name, Amen

  7. Mumsee, I was 18 when I joined the AF.
    Wise decision on my part.
    Good luck to your son.
It won’t be easy. It isn’t supposed to be.
But he’ll be a better man for it.
    Leastwise, I was.

  8. Do you need a copy of my Navy SEAL novel, then?

Stargazer was interviewed by 4 people, 45 minutes each interview and is feeling optimistic. His brother, who works at the same company, then took him out to lunch. Nothing else on the horizon as the other job seems to have gone underground, so we’re hopeful this is it. He’s worked hard and has maintained a far better attitude than I would have under the same siu\tuation.

    Thanks for prayers.
