We made it through the night. I suppose today I will call our family doctor and make an appointment. Hopefully I can speak with his nurse and explain a few things before we go. At least with this doctor I can be in the room with her..you know she IS 18!
You know you can’t take a threat of suicide lightly even if you do think it is a manipulative bluff. Of course I am the number one person she hates now….been there done that….I can deal.
Thank you for covering us in prayers last night. I don’t know that I have crept into her room to check on her this much since she was a baby. Please continue the Prayer War for her soul.
G and I went back with her for a little while, then she asked that we leave the room. The doctor came to get us and we went back in the room. They decided that she will start taking Lexapro for her anxiety. She signed a waiver that will allow her dad to pick up the transcript tomorrow.
I spoke with the school social worker. She has an appointment through a grant even though we have private insurance and can pay –to start seeing a drug councelor. I am selling all of this to her under the umbrella of it helping her and looking good when she goes to court.
I can also go to the juvenile court and have it court mandated that she attend school and jump through a few more hoops.
She finally backed me as far into a corner as I was willing to go and Nice Mom (who she claims is crazy) has been replaced with I Can Out Manipulate You-You Amateur Mom.
I laughed today that I learned this stuff from the best and spent thousands of dollars un-learning it, but when you really need it you can dig it out.
Say a prayer for Carol, she’s in the ER at Hollywood Presbyterian, she took a fall but they’re also (I hope) going to be checking into her complaints of dizziness and headaches and neck pain — her speech is slurred at times, something’s not right. 😦

Kim, we love you, and your baby girl. May God sustain you and give you supernatural wisdom and love. Parenting ain’t for sissies.

You have my prayers, Kim. Difficult days, for sure.
Karen, your days are good practice for retirement. Good communication will help. It’s an adjustment. Praying he will find a job quickly.
