  1. This is my shocked face at this one. :/ Nobody could have possibly seen this coming… 🙄

    http://hotair.com/archives/2015/10/13/university-of-toronto-unexpectedly-finds-problems-with-letting-boys-in-the-girls-showers/

“Like many American colleges, the University of Toronto has heard the calls for fairness across the “gender spectrum” and previously moved to a policy of having gender neutral bathrooms and shower / locker facilities on campus. Now I’m sure that most of you, just like me, think this is a brilliant plan which encourages diversity and inclusion, holding no potential hazards for the students living in our brave new world. But wonders never cease and it appears there was a fly in the ointment after all.

The University of Toronto (U of T) is temporarily changing its policy on gender-neutral bathrooms after two reports of voyeurism in a student residence.

Two women showering in Whitney Hall, a residence at U of T’s University College, reported they saw a cellphone reach over the shower-stall dividers in an attempt to record them, in two different incidents, police Const. Victor Kwong told The Toronto Star…

“The purpose of this temporary measure is to provide a safe space for the women who have been directly impacted by these events and other students who may feel more comfortable in a single-gender washroom in the wake of these incidents.”
Who could possibly have imagined that a bunch of hormone driven, college age guys might react this way when presented with an opportunity to be standing around next to some young college women who were showering? It’s almost as if we don’t even understand the fundamental nature of the human animal. I’m shocked, I tell you. Simply gobsmacked.”

  2. The establishment choice?

    http://hotair.com/archives/2015/10/12/chris-wallace-establishment-groups-are-threatening-to-primary-house-conservatives-who-oppose-paul-ryan/

“Via Breitbart, this is the kind of claim that big-media types would sneer at as right-wing propaganda designed to build grassroots opposition to Ryan becoming Speaker … if it wasn’t a big-media type who was reporting it.

Outside groups spent $23 million last year trying to beat tea-party candidates in Republican primaries, with the Chamber of Commerce accounting for nearly a third of that amount. Ryan is an ideal choice for that wing of the party — anti-tax and pro-amnesty, serious about cutting spending but not above voting for TARP amid a financial crisis. He was Mitt Farking Romney’s running mate, for cripes sake. His pro-business credentials are impeccable. All of which is to say, what Wallace is alleging here isn’t implausible.

WALLACE: Karl, I want to end on this exit question, which is that I’m told, that, you know, for all the talk of what the Freedom Caucus is demanding, Ryan knows numbers, and secondly, there’s a lot of pressure being put on by the establishment and business groups, saying that some of those Freedom Caucus members, if you’re not going to play ball and you’re not going to get involved, you’re going to get a primary opponent.

There’s a tiny bit of ambiguity there in whether Wallace means the FC members will be primaried for opposing Ryan specifically or for being obstructionist generally. He made the comment within a larger conversation about Ryan’s odds of becoming Speaker, though, so that’s what I understand him to mean. On the other hand, Breitbart’s right that the Chamber of Commerce was already planning a much larger push next year to replace some House.”

  3. It’s not news when Palestinian terrorists attack Jews in multiple incidents. It’s only news when the Jewish victim’s govt. retaliates, and then it’s the somehow all the Jew’s fault.

    http://www.israellycool.com/2015/10/12/it-all-started-when-israel-fired-back/

“It all started when Israel fired back: that’s the classic line that serves as the foundation of Honest Reporting. Israel and Jews under attack are not news: only when Jews defend themselves is it news. The current round of Jihad attacks, probably counting from the heinous murder-execution, in front of four horrified children, drew almost no media attention outside of Jewish and Israeli sources until a few Palestinian terrorists were shot. That act happened on Thursday 1st October at 9pm.

It wasn’t the first act and, as I’ve pointed out, this is all just the same old Jihad Jews have always faced.”

  4. The unisex bathrooms and showers in the dorms is why I discouraged my children from attending UC Berkeley. It just seemed ripe for abuse.

Part of the argument made was, when guys and gals live together in a communal setting like a dorm, they become more like brothers and sisters than potential love interests.

I did not find that to be true when I was in college back in the dark ages and lived on a coed floor. Why would I believe it now?

Oh, unless men and women have evolved . . .

  5. The thing that really scares me is that the people who instituted this are brilliant people. I’m sure that they all have PhD’s My mom finished third grade. She could have told them what would happen.

  6. Chas, given a choice of only one, I’d rather have decisions made with someone with common sense and morality than someone with lots of book learning. The number of times I’ve seen in a split second what people with more experience somehow failed to see in months or years of planning boggles the mind. I mean, was this decision made by eunuchs and nuns? By Planned Parenthood? It certainly wasn’t made by parents of college-age kids!
