Prayer Requests 10-2-15

It’s Friday, so please remember to pray for Mumsee, Mike, and the Nestlings.

Anyone else?

Psalm 123

¹Unto thee lift I up mine eyes, O thou that dwellest in the heavens.

Behold, as the eyes of servants look unto the hand of their masters, and as the eyes of a maiden unto the hand of her mistress; so our eyes wait upon theLord our God, until that he have mercy upon us.

Have mercy upon us, O Lord, have mercy upon us: for we are exceedingly filled with contempt.

Our soul is exceedingly filled with the scorning of those that are at ease, and with the contempt of the proud.

  1. Lord God, before we even begin to pray your blessing upon and rejoice with Kim and Paul, we would be remiss not to remind you of the deep needs within our community.

You are holy indeed, the fountain of all holiness and we praise you for your goodness, mercy and loving kindness. We thank you that there is nothing hid from your eyes and that our circumstances are known to you. In the midst of these circumstances, though, Lord, sometimes it is hard for us to see to the end with hope and confidence. For several of us, the way looks muddy, the wind is cold and fear crawls up our spine.

We want to trust you, Lord, with these things. We want to have faith that our lives are in your hands. Sometimes, though, it looks uncertain.

And that’s when I, at least, want to climb into your lap, pour out my fears and give them to you to carry.

The list is long and I’m breathless at how so many of your followers around the planet are in hard situations. But I’m going to start with some at the front of my mind this morning, asking for grace for those whom I know I will forget or not know about, and I pray your blessings upon them.

We love you, Lord, we trust you with the circumstances of our lives, no matter how convoluted and challenging they may seem. You’ve put us into relationships with spouses, children, neighbors, church bodies and all the people in our world, for purposes we can only guess at. Fill us with your grace toward our loved ones–and that includes the loved ones we’ve never met–give us words of encouragement and thankfulness, help our unbelief. Heal us and our loved ones with the healing we need the most and provide us with the grace we need to walk alongside those who are suffering.

You are holy. We are not. Help us to see with your eyes, hear with your ears, love with your heart and understand with your mind that we might be your hands and feet in a world that is choosing to hate, to die, and to break. Help us to stand against the satanic forces that rage, and help us to stand secure in Jesus: he who finished your work on the earth.

In all these things we appeal to you, oh God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit, knowing that in you alone is life, joy, grace and a hopeful future.

    Amen.

P.S. Could California have some rain, please?

  2. And so, Father, we give you this home for Kim and Paul and pray your blessings upon them, their marriage, their love for their family and friends and their good hearts. We thank you that Kim has found a place on earth where she can be secure and I ask that this home, made together, would bind this couple ever more closely together and thus moving toward you.

I ask that Kim would feel free to use the hospitality gifts you put inside her to your glory. This sounds like a great spot for a Bible study for me, Lord, and if that’s your will, I thank you for it.

For Paul, I thank you for an opportunity to have a home where he is loved and cherished; where he can find restoration for his soul as well in a home arranged for him and with a wife who loves him, sees his needs and wants only to help. Thank you for that.

And for Kim in her marriage to a good man, I pray this home would be a place of healing, grace, mercy, love and wisdom. That here in her security, she might stretch out her hands and beckon in –starting with her own beloved BG.

Thank you, Lord, for this house, for this community, for this place. Thank you for what is to come–the good and troublesome–for your glory in their lives. Thank you that we can rejoice with Kim and her family.

    Amen.

  3. Wonderful blessing prayer for Kim and Paul in their new home. 100% agreement from Atlanta on that prayer!
I will add a little more.

    Heavenly Father,

Thank You for Your provision for Kim and Paul and all others who will visit as family or friends. May many yet to be discovered features and conveniences be noticed to continue their initial delight. May this be another example of when You have provided more than could be hoped or imagined. The wait was long and hard, but You came through with the best. Please daily bless all who are in the shelter of this house and home. May they flourish in ways You have planned for them. May the yard and landscaping offer hours of pleasure and communing with nature that You created. May love grow inside the home as plants grow outside. May peace, Your peace, be a constant atmosphere in their home. I pray in Jesus’ name, Amen

  4. Well said, Michelle.

Here on the prairie, much help is needed as we try to help the young fellow get over his anger. He is absolutely closed to talking with us at all, as he knows we will call him on his stuff. He cannot admit to any responsibility. It is dad’s fault he does not do his schoolwork. Huh? Anyway, the anger continues and we do not want him to end up like the angry young man in Oregon. Prayer that God will reach through all that anger and release him. And prayer that the family will hold together and get stronger through it. Thanks.

  5. Michelle @ 10:15
You can have some of our rain. 🙂

I went to the barber shop yesterday morning. The sun was peeping through the clouds. A couple of barbers were out there staring at it.
I’m old enough to remember; so I explained to them what it was.
It soon went away. Maybe they’ll remember next time.

  6. Today has been good. I felt covered in your prayers. If I may be so bold as to ask you to do it again tomorrow…..
I think I will ask my priest to come bless the home as well.
Much love to all of you and many, many thanks for the prayers.
