Prayer Requests 9-18-15

It’s Friday, so please remember to pray for Mumsee, Mike, and the Nestlings.

Anyone else?

Psalm 108

¹O God, my heart is fixed; I will sing and give praise, even with my glory.

Awake, psaltery and harp: I myself will awake early.

I will praise thee, O Lord, among the people: and I will sing praises unto thee among the nations.

For thy mercy is great above the heavens: and thy truth reacheth unto the clouds.

Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens: and thy glory above all the earth;

That thy beloved may be delivered: save with thy right hand, and answer me.

God hath spoken in his holiness; I will rejoice, I will divide Shechem, and mete out the valley of Succoth.

Gilead is mine; Manasseh is mine; Ephraim also is the strength of mine head; Judah is my lawgiver;

Moab is my washpot; over Edom will I cast out my shoe; over Philistia will I triumph.

10 Who will bring me into the strong city? who will lead me into Edom?

11 Wilt not thou, O God, who hast cast us off? and wilt not thou, O God, go forth with our hosts?

12 Give us help from trouble: for vain is the help of man.

13 Through God we shall do valiantly: for he it is that shall tread down our enemies.

  1. Kim, 🙂 , great image I can see you bending into the wind with all your luggage (I’m sure it’s tasteful), wrapped in a fashionable coat and fur lined boots …

    And with your cutely bobbed hair ! 🙂

    Hang in there …

  2. Uncle Frank came through surgery well and with a greater reduced pain level. Family is thankful, but, as with anything, he’s not out of the woods yet. Thanks for your prayers.

    As to the rest . . . well, the challenges continue. I expect more today; not a lot of sleep last night either. 😦

  3. I have a praise. Yesterday my husband glanced out the window and saw several patrol cars, with lights flashing, out on our dirt road. They were mostly blocked by trees, so we were not sure what was happening. He was on the phone and I was busy, but we finally headed out to check out the situation. I was concerned something might have happened at the home across the road.

    Turns out that there was a man being chased by the sheriffs. He had been casing homes, apparently, when he was spotted by a local law officer. He choose the wrong driveway to check out. The officer noticed him and when he left, the officer followed him in an unmarked car. He seemed to be casing another home and the officer blocked him in with his vehicle.

    The suspect rammed the car and took off. There were shots fired. The suspect’s car had been stolen from someone about a mile from us.

    This happened early in the day. My neighbor was alerted to the situation, so alerted some relatives she had in the area. We had no idea and my husband was out walking alone during this time.

    Shortly after his walk, the suspect was caught right in front of our house. One of those alerted by the neighbor happened to be driving by and saw a man waving frantically. He was trying to climb over a wire fence from a cow pasture across from us. They refused to stop and called the authorities. I suspect, they may have stopped if they had not been warned. I am sure we would have.

    This is not an area that one worries about having doors locked 24/7. This could have been a very bad situation all around. We are thankful for diligent law officers. We are very thankful and praising God for no one (except, possibly, the suspect) being hurt in any of this.

  4. Excitement your way this morning, glad it turned out well for those who were not planning to rob others. Kim, you have no excuse for low self esteem, your boss proves that over and over. Not many are strong enough to deal with him. And you are headed out the door, do the best you can while there and move along. We love you.

    Here, we had to tell young fourteen that he was not playing in the football game last night as his grades did not reflect effort. He is an all A or B student except in the one class he has an F in. He will not turn in the homework. We tell him, if he can remember to put on his jersey on game days, he can remember to do and turn in his homework. Until then, football is for others. He was not happy. But he did not hit, kick, or break stuff that I know of.

    Prayer for him and for wisdom for us. Thanks.

  5. Thank you Mumsee. I tell myself that I am smart and I am worthy, but it pales in comparison to what I deal with on a daily basis.. I can’t tell myself enough to counteract how I am treated. I am so afraid I am going to fail again and again. I am looking forward to working in retail where I know that I am good. I have got to get my self confidence back but right now I am in the negatives. At least I realize that I am the only one who can do this.

    Just in case you don’t know….the nest is never far from my heart.

  6. You are welcome, Kim. You are actually a very strong woman and you have grown a lot in the Lord over the years I have known you. If you mess up, it is okay. The guy may yell but that is his problem not yours. You just do what you do, give him your best, within reasonable limits. Take care of your family and enjoy what God is doing in you. You are showing your daughter a good thing, sticking to your commitment while moving on when it is clear the job is not working. Being responsible. That is all good.
