Your throne room stays open day and night for Your adopted children to enter in through the power of Jesus. You, along with Jesus, and the Holy Spirit, are our doctor, psychiatrist, lawyer, financial advisor, real estate agent, pharmacist, farmer, artist, security guard, etc.,and Providence of all good gifts we know here on earth. There is no one else who deserves our first place thank You above all others.
Many are the needs mentioned here on the blog. You know each individual one. You see the grieving over a pet whose earthly life has ended, the dismay of parents who are once again disappointed by their children going astray, the grandparents who are concerned for grandchildren starting into school, the young adult children who are finding life uneasy because of a lack of opportunities for work, the adult children of elderly parents who need special arrangements for their care, for those who have lives affected by either current or past alcoholism of close relatives, the missionaries who need additional support and comfort as they cope with difficult conditions and learning to live out their faith in foreign cultures, the teachers of the young whether in homeschools or on the missionary frontlines, or public school, or college level, those who live in drought stricken areas or places ravaged by fire, those who are burdened by all the spiritual lostness in their vicinities, those who are in very difficult employment situations and feel they are holding onto unraveling threads, and those who are healing from surgeries, illness, broken hearts, pains of various physical conditions, and all else I have failed to mention. You know and see it all! You are our help in troubled times. We have no other help for You are the One and only Living God Almighty. We ask for and wait patiently for remedy from You in Your ways and timing. Please help us all, despite our various troubles to be an encouragement to others and to share all the goodness that is found in Jesus with the needy. Please show us how to better reach the lost in each of our circles. Make divine opportunities for sharing and help us to be bold. I pray in Jesus’ name, Amen
He was doing pretty well this morning. He did confide to his mommy that he was scared, but he didn’t put up a fuss about going. The bus was very late (I was out there with them to see him get on), & he got antsy waiting for it.
But then he didn’t know where to sit, & the bus driver sternly told him to sit down. Another lady, an outgoing neighbor, got on the bus & helped him find a seat. As the bus began to pull away, Emily saw Forrest’s face screw up, & could tell he was crying, “Mommy!” Heartbreaking!
So Emily spent much of the morning crying & worrying. I have cried some myself. He acts so tough at times, but he’s a vulnerable little boy, & maybe not really even mature enough for school. Then again, maybe this is exactly what he needs. We’ll see.
He did get to spend a little time with his teacher yesterday, after the other kids had left the orientation program. And we heard from a couple other people that his teacher has been teaching for many years, & has a great reputation.
You’re supposed to cry when your first born goes to kindergarten. I actually had to stop myself from chasing down the bus, crying, “wait! I haven’t taught him everything he needs to know yet!”
My adorable granddaughter loves kindergarten so much, she comes back and runs another class for her younger sister. Distraught that she has no homework, she gets out a picture to color or a work sheet to do every night to turn in.
Her mother, a teacher, is shaking her head. “She’s way too much like me.” She said children in the adorable granddaughter’s class are still having trouble a week into it–so don’t be concerned if that happens for your little guy. Leaving home, riding a bus, new kids and a classroom, not to mention having to follow directions, is hard, but it’s a developmental step we all took.
Aww, prayers for Forrest & mom (beautiful closeup photo of them on FB by the way — Emily is so pretty!).
If he gets to first grade and still doesn’t like it, he can do what I did and just grab his lunch pail and sneak out to walk home. I somehow thought school really was optional.
I forgot to mention that this is all-day kindergarten, not half-day. I really don’t like that idea, but it is the trend these days.
Emily is doing better now, but this morning she was tempted to get on the bus, scoop him up in her arms, & bring him home. Then she had to restrain herself from calling the school to see how he was doing.
The funny thing is that she is not usually an over-protective mom. She lets him get really dirty, ride his bike, try to ride his skateboard, climb a tree, etc. But when her little boy is scared & vulnerable, the nurturing part of her comes out full force.
And at school he was probably just fine. If she had called the school to check on him she would have gotten an harried secretary who had been answering the same question from other parents all morning. It is an adjustment, but he will be just fine. 😉
I just heard that the agent who has the house listed is in the hospital with her husband who is awaiting surgery for a brain tumor. I had sent an email to her earlier in the week, she didn’t respond which isn’t like her. Please pray for Mitch that all will be well.
still needing rain. . Last Sundays barely watered the ground and we need a gullywasher to fill water tanks.

Stargazer could use some encouragement. Hasn’t had an interview in at least a month, despite lots of applications.

Thank you for mentioning that, Donna. 🙂
