Jo, if you check in today, my Bible study prayed for your safe travels last night. I hope all is well.
Something happened to BG yesterday. She came home early from work, locked herself in her room and cried. She wouldn’t talk to me about it, but about 10:30 she asked for some headache medicine. Mama is worried, but she will talk when she is ready. She wouldn’t let me touch her to hug her and tell her I loved her and promised that eventually she would feel better.
Where does BG work, Kim? And what kind of people work there?
Somebody must have said something to BG and she is too young to handle some of that stuff.
Bad start to the day for me. I woke up in pain, despite having gone to bed in a remarkably pain-free state. Maybe some tension from running up against a stubborn seven-year-old at the end of the day yesterday. I don’t know. I just know I don’t like starting a day in tears when nothing bad has happened, and hardly anyone is even awake yet.
Prayers for patience and perspective, please. Thank you.
Things are some better now. I got out of the house for a while this morning, going grocery shopping and taking one daughter on an errand she needed to run. A change of scenery helped.
And praise to God we weren’t in a car accident. A lady did a U-turn at an intersection on a divided, 4-lane highway, and then got into the right lane heading in the direction I was going (in the left lane). After she got going forward, she decided she was going to change to the left lane, just as I was approaching from behind and the left. She nearly hit us on my daughter’s side of the car before she realized we were there. It must have been only inches — she was really close.
I should have stayed well back of her after she did that U-y, but, thankfully, nothing came of it.

Teenage girls are meaner than snakes. There is hope that she and the Boy broke up.

“There is hope that she and the Boy broke up”.
I hadn’t thought of that. It could be trauma that is basically good.
I’m praying that she doesn’t make a mistake.

And so did the prayers. 🙂

Grateful to God for indoor plumbing — and people who know how to fix it when it goes bad. 🙂
