Thank you for the prayers for our friend, Kim. She has a long row to hoe, but I can tell you that the family is experiencing much peace from the Lord. We don’t realize what a blessing peace can be—especially that ‘peace beyond understanding’ until we experience it.
I would appreciate prayers for our VBS program. This is a very small church, but the VBS is large. They will have 150 children or so in a church that barely holds that many. Most of the day is spent outdoors in tents. The children are at all different levels of educational and spiritual levels.
I have not done this in many years and would appreciate all prayers to have the wisdom, patience and love for these children that I need. Pray that things go smoothly between my helper and me–that we complement each other well. Pray for their little hearts to be open to the Holy Spirit.
Kathaleena – You’ve mentioned that Kim’s parents have already lost three of their children. How many did they have? Prayers for Kim & the whole family.
I’m feeling very weary this morning, nothing compared what others are going through, though. It’s a long day every day, but just yesterday a mom emailed me wanting to get her children into camp because her daughter had just been up with a school group and LOVED it! So exciting to see non-churched children getting to come to camp and to hear about Jesus! Please pray for the financials sponsorship monies to come in so that every child who wants to come, can.
I just came to admit that I am not above bribery. BG and I went to dinner last night. She mentioned something she wanted. I told her if she pulled out an A in Geometry in Summer School I would buy it for her.
I also talked to her father this morning about getting her back into counceling. He didn’t want to but he did agree.
There aren’t many left in The Gambia right now. Just two single women out in the village and a couple in the city. I’m stuck here for a few months and two families are home temporarily because of health issues. Pray for strength and wisdom for those who remain as well as health and healing for those now off the field.
Karen, they have four living children. One was adopted. They are all grown with children who are also grown. They are trying to decide what is the next best course of action. Chemo is necessary, but some of the family want her to go to a cancer center, while those who do most of the running are not sure if that is necessary. Pray for wisdom for them.

Also–I guess Kim had a panic attack last night, but was ok today again. She let the ‘what ifs’ get out of control. She can use prayers for peace.
