Prayer Requests 5-22-15

It’s Friday, so don’t forget to pray for Mumsee, Mike, and the young folks at The Nest.

Anyone else?

Psalm 148

¹Praise ye the Lord. Praise ye the Lord from the heavens: praise him in the heights.

Praise ye him, all his angels: praise ye him, all his hosts.

Praise ye him, sun and moon: praise him, all ye stars of light.

Praise him, ye heavens of heavens, and ye waters that be above the heavens.

Let them praise the name of the Lord: for he commanded, and they were created.

He hath also stablished them for ever and ever: he hath made a decree which shall not pass.

Praise the Lord from the earth, ye dragons, and all deeps:

Fire, and hail; snow, and vapours; stormy wind fulfilling his word:

Mountains, and all hills; fruitful trees, and all cedars:

10 Beasts, and all cattle; creeping things, and flying fowl:

11 Kings of the earth, and all people; princes, and all judges of the earth:

12 Both young men, and maidens; old men, and children:

13 Let them praise the name of the Lord: for his name alone is excellent; his glory is above the earth and heaven.

14 He also exalteth the horn of his people, the praise of all his saints; even of the children of Israel, a people near unto him. Praise ye the Lord.

  1. Ann I am so sorry that you are mourning the loss of your precious dog. We are facing this time in the not too distant future and we feel the pain in our hearts. May our Lord comfort you all as the tears flow and the smiles of happy memories flood your hearts….He will sustain you and heal your brokenhearts ❤

  2. Emily & Forrest are going camping for a couple days. Prayers, please, for their safety, & that Forrest doesn’t wander away & get lost. (They went camping last August, & were fine, but grandmothers worry about these things. 😉 )

Also, we are praying that as Emily enjoys the beauty of nature around her, the realization will hit her, like an epiphany, that this beauty didn’t “just happen” & evolve, but may she see the hand of the Creator in the midst of that beauty – her Creator. May she meet Jesus out in the “wilderness”. (They’re not gonna be that far away from civilization, but still…) Thank you.

  3. Oh, I’m so sorry Ann. And I’ve also been thinking about Babe, nancyjill. 😦 My two dogs are both about 8 years old now, so we’ll be heading into that territory in the not-too-distant future I’m afraid. Dreading it. (And this is about where Chas chimes in about his Pet Rock … ) 🙂

  4. Thanx Peter.
Chas has been discombobulated today. Overslept, stupid dream, no Lions, and partially exiled from his room.
You may not understand this Donna, but what you are talking about is the REASON for the pet rock. I think I mentioned this before. When I was nine, I had this dog named Rex. He was my buddy. He died of something a vet could cure easily now. It’s hard on a kid when his buddy dies.
Then, when I was about eleven. I had another dog named Pal. He/we fell into a pool of water and he caught distemper and died. I had no idea that people took pets to doctors in those days.
I have never, since then, had a pet. Chuck has always had one since he left home. He spends more on that dog than my parents spent on me, even adjusted for inflation.
Elvera gave me that pet rock as a prank.

I saw that Ted Cruse video from Anon last night. I have changed my preference from
    S. Walker, Cruse,-Carson to Cruse first. I like the way he fights back. We need someone who calls it right. Does that video have a link? I would like to pass it on.

  5. I learned of something today that makes me nervous about my position. While part of me thinks I have nothing to worry about the other part knows that I am not skilled in a lot of the areas I need to be.
I just want stability and maybe even a healthy dose of boredom. I am getting too old to figure out what to do next.

  6. Ann, I am so sorry about your beloved pet. I cried and cried and cried when I was in 6th grade and my dog had to be put to sleep. I thought my heart would never heal as an adult when we had to have Marlow–the world’s best Golden Retriever–put to sleep.
I swore I would never have another dog because I couldn’t handle the pain, yet I relented and got Amos for BG. As you all know, he is the love of my life.
My heart hurts for you, and as much as this hurts don’t be as stubborn as I was about eventually letting your heart be stolen by another “worthless” animal.

  7. Heavenly Father,

The hurts of this world continue to cut as a knife plunged into our hearts. The hurts are deep and draining of our pleasure in life. I ask today that you would dress the wounded hearts with Your healing balm and bandages that heal and dissolve when no longer needed. Please help Annms’s family with the tremendous loss of their beloved dog. Knowing how much each family member loved the animal compounds the missing, especially when parents see their children in grief, and children are extra sad to see parents cry. Please help the families in my church who are grieving loss of their loved ones this week. We have a bereavement notice almost every week, but two in one week feels like way too much to process. Thank you for the words of our former pastor who said that Jesus wept and celebrated whereas we tend to do one or the other. Jesus shows us both are appropriate in how he wept over Lazarus and celebrated bringing him to life.

L9rd, there are those who continue to have dramatic health issues like Mike. Please help each in the family Nest to do their special assignments to make things go as well as possible. I pray for an infusion of strength to surge through Mike with the full power of Jesus going straight to the diseased parts and rebuilding or restructuring or whatever it is that is needed to make his body be restored. Please, Lord, do not let his pain and lack of use of muscles keep him down. Please be his physical strength when he is week. You know the many areas of need that Mumsee has. Please provide. Thank You that her neighbor is growing stronger in her recooperation. Please help any of the young who have various issues to learn to give it all to Jesus so they learn to focus on the needs of others and be a great help in times of trouble. Thank You for the maturity of most developed through love, patience, and discipline provided by Mumsee and Mike.

Lord, continue to help Kim and Donna in their employment situations. Also my brother who has a difficult boss. You know each situation with its various strains and stresses and complex with gruff personalities and communication problems. Help, please, help! Ease the stormy atmospheres, the intimidations, and any behaviors or secret keeping that hinder people from doing their best.

Thank You for the beauty You put in the days. Give each person here a chance to enjoy something special in this day. Give them good laughs and loving company whether family, pets, or friends. Thank You for our friendships here grounded in our love of Jesus. In His name, Amen

  8. My husband could use prayer. He is really feeling stressed about some of his responsibilities at church, and some disappointments in how others are not fulfilling responsibilities as they agreed to. I’ve never seen him as soul-weary as he is this evening.
