Hi, guys. Sorry I haven’t been here in so long. Thanks for praying for me and The Gambia so faithfully. Furlough has been busy but God has really blessed. I love sharing in churches! I have 2 churches left on my schedule and the kids group at my sister’s church.
I started this furlough needing $700+/month in additional support. God has done amazing things and I now only need another $50/month. I haven’t really fund raised. I just share my heart and mention the need and let God work in people’s hearts. To God be the glory!
I plan to head back in June. Be in prayer for wisdom and God’s guidance for the whole team. We have a big change in ministry that we are considering and there are very strong opinions on both sides. These are tricky waters if we aren’t all committed to seeking and following God’s plan.
My friend Carol called last night and she’s exhibiting some of the thinking and behavior she gets when her psych meds are off-kilter somehow. Lots of paranoia, thinking she’s possibly being poisoned by the staff, just very agitated in general.
Pray that today will be a better day for her and that they will know how to better stabilize her mentally so she doesn’t wind up in a hospital again.
Meanwhile, the staff social worker talked to her about getting moved to another assisted living facility, which is good news, but it looks like she’ll be going into the Hollywood area which will be a bit farther away (again) from me. I wish they could move her back to where she used to be (southern LA, rather than northern LA), but somehow she’s in a different service region (geographically) now. I have no idea how that happened — or why it can’t be reversed or “fixed” to get her back closer to what was home for her for so many years — but it’s the “system” and you know what they say about fighting the system.
Just wanted to ask you to pray as youngest sibling had to go to the hospital with kidney pain. I’m taking care of the little ones, rocking Baby in her seat with my foot and with Little Niece sitting beside me, trying to get my attention.
Thank you for the many ways You are answering prayers throughout the world today. Some of the prayers answered today maybe ones grandparents spoke over grandchildren decades ago. You have Your special timing for answer of each sincere prayer.
Abba, thank You for blessing Ajisuun with funding for her missionary work. I pray the additional funding she needs will quickly appear from Your storehouse, Your supernatural banking system. Please make a way of reconcilment between the two groups with differing ministry agendas. May Your plan and will win out over the plans of people. Please continue blessing the people of Gambia with more coming to knowledge of Jesus as Lord and Savior of their lives. Shine Your goodness on the land and into hearts there today.
Lord, You know what Donna’s friend needs. All of her moving around and delays in treatment makes a farce of the medical community. Please give her a good situation sooner rather than later. I ask that You would give Donna convenience in other areas to compensate for this new expected inconvenience.
Lord, please meet the needs of Roscuro’s sister and family. Please bring her back to health super fast. May her depleted body grow stronger moment by moment. Thank You for Roscuro and all her expressions of love and care for people. Please make a way for her to have new opportunities for the future to serve Your needs in the world without damaging her health more.
Please continue comforting AJ’s family in their time of loss. Help AJ to know best how to comfort his dad, and may AJ’s neighbor be accepting of Jesus.
Please keep Mumsee and Mike in good spirits as they deal with his recouperation. I pray his physical therapy works wonders.
Lord, I lift up our son, Wesley, for special blessing that he would do well with his presentations this week. Also, please help husband and staff to complete all the work they committed to do for April 15th deadline. Please help me to move along to finish this article writing course. Thank You for help in ideas for articles.
Lord, I am pretty worn out. Please help me to have greater physical stamina and be energized and motivated to do my best. Help me to discern the best from the good to get proper focus.
In Jesus’ name, Amen
Please continue to pray for the new baby and his mom. He appears not to have hemophilia but is jaundiced and under the lights. Mom, meanwhile, has an infection, is exhausted and scared. Thanks.
Prayers for my adult daughter’s safety (2nd Arrow’s). She lives in a more tornado-prone area than we do, and severe weather is predicted for parts of the Midwest today and tomorrow.
She works so many long shifts at varying times, day or night, sometimes she hardly knows whether she’s coming or going. When she sleeps, she sleeps hard and hears nothing.
Last year, when she lived alone in a ground-floor apartment, she slept right through the warning sirens, and was horrified to see the next morning that trees were down one block from her building, and roofs were torn off buildings about ten minutes away, where a tornado had touched down.
Now she lives in a suburb, with a tornado history of its own, in a second-floor apartment. She often sleeps during the day, as she works more often overnight than during the daytime. If severe weather would strike during the day, her roommate, and probably a lot of other people in the building would not be there to alert her quickly to get to a safe place, if she was sleeping then.
If you hear about severe weather in the upper Midwest, could you whisper a little prayer for her? And maybe for my mother heart, too, as I make my faltering efforts to trust fully in the Lord? Thanks.
Carol’s doing better, they found most of her stuff so her mind is eased on that front.
She does have (as part of all her in-transit belongings) a borrowed kindle and large book that she checked out of the Montebello library that need to get returned. I told her to at least try to connect with them to explain what’s happened so maybe they’ll allow some grace period — or maybe they can even arrange to pick the items up from her.
