Prayer Requests 4-2-15

It’s Thursday, so please remember to pray for the folks in PNG.

Also, my mother’s service is this afternoon, so if you would be so kind, your prayers for my family would be appreciated.

Mark 15:1-16

¹And straightway in the morning the chief priests held a consultation with the elders and scribes and the whole council, and bound Jesus, and carried him away, and delivered him to Pilate.

And Pilate asked him, Art thou the King of the Jews? And he answering said unto them, Thou sayest it.

And the chief priests accused him of many things: but he answered nothing.

And Pilate asked him again, saying, Answerest thou nothing? behold how many things they witness against thee.

But Jesus yet answered nothing; so that Pilate marvelled.

Now at that feast he released unto them one prisoner, whomsoever they desired.

And there was one named Barabbas, which lay bound with them that had made insurrection with him, who had committed murder in the insurrection.

And the multitude crying aloud began to desire him to do as he had ever done unto them.

But Pilate answered them, saying, Will ye that I release unto you the King of the Jews?

10 For he knew that the chief priests had delivered him for envy.

11 But the chief priests moved the people, that he should rather release Barabbas unto them.

12 And Pilate answered and said again unto them, What will ye then that I shall do unto him whom ye call the King of the Jews?

13 And they cried out again, Crucify him.

14 Then Pilate said unto them, Why, what evil hath he done? And they cried out the more exceedingly, Crucify him.

15 And so Pilate, willing to content the people, released Barabbas unto them, and delivered Jesus, when he had scourged him, to be crucified.

16 And the soldiers led him away into the hall, called Praetorium; and they call together the whole band.

  1. Prayers, AJ. Tough & emotional day ahead, but an important one — and there will be some relief when it’s behind you.

My friend Carol, meanwhile, is back in the hospital (a different one this time, but closer to ‘home’ than the other ones were geographically, so that’s good). She’s having a lot of pain where the hernia is so she said they’re doing a bunch of ultrasounds to see what’s going on.

She may wind up in surgery again — I hope not, but I suspect that’s the only way to “fix” this.

  2. So the doctors don’t want to do surgery on Carol’s abdominal hernia as she’s had too many (2?) surgeries in that same spot already and infection can become more of a danger if they do yet another one.

But the doctor told her that her hernia is very bad — he recommends getting a “binder” to wrap around it, I’m not sure how much that will help though. 😦

  3. Could you pray I get a decent night’s sleep tonight. I really haven’t slept more than four or five hours a night since . . . last Wednesday? I’m totally beat and I’ll be singing, etc. for Easter. I’m not sure how I’m going to survive long enough to attend rehearsal tonight after the Maundy Thursday service. It goes until 9:30 and I’m an exhuasted mess right now at 5 o’clock.
