About a week ago, I asked for prayer that a lost dog, a Rottweiler named Lucy, would be found before the blizzard arrived. That did not happen, but she has at last been caught, after nearly two weeks of running loose. Turns out she was hunkering down under a lady’s porch, & the lady was feeding her. 🙂
Emily & R have another court date tomorrow morning. He is supposed to have paperwork to show that he is unable to hold a job, due to his mental health problems, & thus unable to pay child support.
R recently bragged to Emily that he turned down a job offer of $300,000 a year (yes, that is three hundred thousand, not a typo) because it would require him to move out of state, & he wants to be a part of Forrest’s life. (Of course, this is complete bunk.) Emily said to me that if he really wanted to be a part of his son’s life, he would take him on a more regular basis, not just every now & then when the mood strikes him.
(It is so sad when Forrest insists that his dad is going to pick him up, but then he doesn’t. We don’t even tell him that R is going to pick him up unless we know he is actually on his way to do so.)
My prayer request is that R will see his need for Jesus. This has got to be demoralizing & a bit humiliating for a young man with such a huge ego, to admit that he cannot keep a job & cannot support his son. Praying the Holy Spirit will minister to his heart in a powerful way, & draw him in.
Please pray for me as I deliver a message tomorrow from Eph. 4:1-10. Thanks,

Chas: Yes, I was getting started within that hour. Thanks to you, and others, for thinking about me – the preaching went well.
We’re still in the Czech Republic. I’ve just returned from a trip to Prague airport to pick up my wife, who has been in England visiting her parents.
