Prayer Requests 1-30-15

It’s Friday, so don’t forget to pray for Mumsee, Mike, and everyone at The Nest.

Anyone else?

Psalm 45

¹My heart is inditing a good matter: I speak of the things which I have made touching the king: my tongue is the pen of a ready writer.

Thou art fairer than the children of men: grace is poured into thy lips: therefore God hath blessed thee for ever.

Gird thy sword upon thy thigh, O most mighty, with thy glory and thy majesty.

And in thy majesty ride prosperously because of truth and meekness and righteousness; and thy right hand shall teach thee terrible things.

Thine arrows are sharp in the heart of the king’s enemies; whereby the people fall under thee.

Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: the sceptre of thy kingdom is a right sceptre.

Thou lovest righteousness, and hatest wickedness: therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.

All thy garments smell of myrrh, and aloes, and cassia, out of the ivory palaces, whereby they have made thee glad.

Kings’ daughters were among thy honourable women: upon thy right hand did stand the queen in gold of Ophir.

10 Hearken, O daughter, and consider, and incline thine ear; forget also thine own people, and thy father’s house;

11 So shall the king greatly desire thy beauty: for he is thy Lord; and worship thou him.

12 And the daughter of Tyre shall be there with a gift; even the rich among the people shall intreat thy favour.

13 The king’s daughter is all glorious within: her clothing is of wrought gold.

14 She shall be brought unto the king in raiment of needlework: the virgins her companions that follow her shall be brought unto thee.

15 With gladness and rejoicing shall they be brought: they shall enter into the king’s palace.

16 Instead of thy fathers shall be thy children, whom thou mayest make princes in all the earth.

17 I will make thy name to be remembered in all generations: therefore shall the people praise thee for ever and ever.

  1. My sister has had Hypothyroidism for about five years. Yesterday, she got some bad lab results. Her doctor is afraid she has a benign brain tumor and has referred her for an MRI. Please pray for her health.
Also, prayers would be appreciated for my niece, Hannah, a sophomore at Wheaton. She is struggling. Thanks.

  2. Thanking & praising God that my clothes washer is working again! Last time I tried it, several days ago, the water wasn’t coming in. I’ve been using Emily’s washer upstairs (which, due to broken knobs, can only do medium loads in warm water).

Chrissy & I were in the basement looking for something, & she suggested we give the washer another try. It worked! I’m so happy we don’t have to pay for it to be repaired!

I’m guessing that the water in the hose or pipe or something may have been frozen, as we’ve had some very low temps, & the basement is not heated. Today, we had some warmer temps (but they’re dropping down low again tonight), so maybe that helped. I think I’m going to do at least one load each day for a while, to keep the water flowing. One is in right now.

  3. 😦 Washer still not working after all. It wouldn’t finish the final spin cycle. I tried rearranging the wet clothes, in case they were off-balance, but that didn’t work. And there’s a funny smell.

    Downstairs washer – not working.
Upstairs washer – works, but could use a repair on those knobs.
    Upstairs oven – not working.
Upstairs fridge – not working well (only gets down to 50* now, not cold enough).
Only vacuum cleaner in the house – not working.

We can’t afford all these repairs. I guess it’s good that Emily can use our oven & can put her cold items in our fridge, & I can use her washer, but these things still need to be fixed or replaced eventually.

Please pray for God to make a way for us out of our financial difficulties. (We know about the principles of Financial Peace University, but right now we need to get the debt of this route off our shoulders, & for Lee to find a well-paying job as soon as he can sell the route.)
