Prayer Requests 12-24-14

It’s Wednesday, so don’t forget the folks in the Gambia.

Anyone else have something to share?

Luke 1:39-50

39 And Mary arose in those days, and went into the hill country with haste, into a city of Juda;

40 And entered into the house of Zacharias, and saluted Elisabeth.

41 And it came to pass, that, when Elisabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the babe leaped in her womb; and Elisabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost:

42 And she spake out with a loud voice, and said, Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb.

43 And whence is this to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?

44 For, lo, as soon as the voice of thy salutation sounded in mine ears, the babe leaped in my womb for joy.

45 And blessed is she that believed: for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from the Lord.

46 And Mary said, My soul doth magnify the Lord,

47 And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour.

48 For he hath regarded the low estate of his handmaiden: for, behold, from henceforth all generations shall call me blessed.

49 For he that is mighty hath done to me great things; and holy is his name.

50 And his mercy is on them that fear him from generation to generation.

  1. Merry Christmas, Eve!!! Praising God for rescuing me from this body of death 17 years ago…for His mercy and everlasting love and grace…for the unspeakably generous gift of His son…and all the many gifts He’s given to me during my lifetime. Rejoicing with you on this Holy Day!

  2. Prayer need: A childhood friend of my husband (L) and her husband (J) live in Atlanta. Her father, a widow, lives in our neighborhood in the continuum-of-care retirement village (they have everything from independent apartments to hospice). He is 83 and was moved to hospice a couple of days ago. Doctors said it could be two days or two weeks. L & J have two daughters, ages 19 & 11, both of whom are very close to dying Grandpa. The 11 year old (K) spent most of the day yesterday at our house, playing with Becca, which went really well as they both love gymnastics. K is having a very hard time with losing her grandpa. L & J are estranged from his parents, so her parents are the only grandparents the kids have really known. Please pray for comfort for the whole family during this difficult time, especially young K.

  3. Rejoicing! My daughter called last night and asked if I would like to spend the night tonight so that I could be with them on Christmas morning. This will be my first time having a Christmas morning with family in many years. This, this is what I was longing for. I have tears in my eyes as I type.

  4. Rejoicing with you, Jo!

You mentioned recently something about wanting to see God move in your family, or for reconciliation, or something along those lines (I forget the words), & have been praying that for you.

Also have been praying for reconciliation & deliverance & whatever else is needed for some other families represented on this blog.

  5. Please pray for Chrissy. She is here to spend Christmas Eve & much of Christmas Day with us. A bit after dinner, she felt really tired, & took a nap. Now she is getting a fever, & she is throwing up as I write this. 😦 Please pray whatever it is will pass quickly, & not pass on to the rest of us. (Especially not to Lee, who has to work no matter what on Saturday.)

    Thank you.

  6. Karen O: Prayers said for your family. It’s awful to be sick at Christmas…I do hope no one else succumbs to the dreaded VV.

Jo: So happy for you! May your holiday be all you are hoping it will be…

  7. One more request to share. I heard via Facebook that a house my brother owns but has rented out to an elderly couple for about ten years, burned to the ground last night. My brother was fully insured, but the couple was not and now needs a new place to live. Please pray they’d find something suitable quickly.
