Do you remember nearly 5 years ago, I told the story of miracle twins being born. (Can’t tell it now on IPad, intermittent electricity today so no computer)
Anyway, the couple had a second pair of assisted twins 15 months ago and thus drive a big white truck car to haul 4 car seats. She is a social worker, he a lawyer making do while he waits to pass the bar.
No money, lots of love and kids.
She hit motorcycle rider coming out of a parking lot. He was injured but is so angry about her ” big white monster car,” that he is suing for $250K they don’t have.
The terrific USAA is handling this, but they have to go to court today. Injured party insists he will take nothing less, young couple’s only choice is to declare bankruptcy.
Please pray for them today.
Thanks.
Husband is not a believer; wife is as thin as a straw from this and the other griefs of her life.
Michelle, that must be so sad and scary for them. Praying.
Pray for my friend Art, who has Parkinson’s and has been placed in a 3-to-a-room nursing home for going on a year now (appears to be a permanent situation). On top of that, there’s been falling out with his sister and brother-in-law, the only family left to look after him at this point.
Art is not a believer and is very angry about his situation (BIL, according to Art, sold, destroyed or gave away virtually all of his personal belongings without his knowledge several months ago, including many prized and sentimental possessions). He feels like he’s been stripped of his personhood, I think, with hardly anything left to call his own.
He’s such a sharp person — and a very talented artist and writer — but now feels lost as he’s unable to write or type (or to paint, obviously) due to the tremors in his hands. He’s probably in his mid to late 70s and has had a trying life — lost his dad at a young age in a horrific car accident (entire family was involved, only his dad died, but he remembers it vividly, waiting alongside the road for the ER teams to arrive ..); lost the wife of his youth (no kids) at a young age due to breast cancer.
Later he battled alcoholism that got so bad it landed him in a hospital with seizures — and he’s always suffered from clinical depression. More recently, he lost his fiancé (an old high school girlfriend/prom date he’d reconnected with after 43 years via the Internet) about 5 years ago.
Sigh.
I hate seeing him “stuck” in that place, although he looked good, considering. But he said he prays every night to die. 😦 😦
I’m not sure what to do for him beyond prayer.
But our visit yesterday certainly surprised and cheered him up, I feel I really need to try to get over there to at least pop in for more frequent visits.
Honestly! I cannot imagine why anyone should think everyone should be driving a small vehicle to suit them. Not even rational. When you get on a motorcycle you take the chance of being hit or hitting something with no shield around you. Just a fact. Around here, it might be a deer or moose. I hardly think anyone with an ounce of sense would side with someone with that attitude. How they put it all into legalese is another story, of course. I am sorry for this woman.
Haven’t heard the answer from the meeting this afternoon. My son went back to work today; his wife thinks perhaps his immune system is tired–he gets sick most often when he’s working 10 hour days 5.5 days a week. She’s going to work harder on making sure he gets to bed on time.
made it to Brisbane. I was wrong in assuming I would have no trouble with that flight. Had to wait hours in an airport with no air conditioning as they are renovating. Just barely made it. Now am in Brisbane at a missionary hotel. Prayers appreciated for making the flight to LA tomorrow morning.
couldn’t sleep last night. Then I decided that my suitcase must be overweight. This is around 2am. Then I calmly decided what to take out of it. And then decided what bag to take to the airport so I could take stuff out and send it back with someone. At 3am I got up and got the bag and took stuff out of the suitcase and then went back to bed. When I got to aviation the next morning asked them to weigh that bag alone so I could see what it weighed. It was 23.7 kilos, exactly right. So, it was right to take those things out in the middle of the night.

Already prayed, Jo, but I can do it again.

The three boys and one girl are wonderful.
And now I’m crying . . .

Dakotah is back at home! She is still weak, of course, & still has some recovering to do, but at least she is home with her family again.

Her mom said that every doctor that came by to check on her for various reasons said it was a miracle that she is doing as well as she is. 🙂
