Prayer Requests 9-30-14

Anyone have a request or praise they’d like to share with us today?

Psalm 93

¹The Lord reigneth, he is clothed with majesty; the Lord is clothed with strength, wherewith he hath girded himself: the world also is stablished, that it cannot be moved.

Thy throne is established of old: thou art from everlasting.

The floods have lifted up, O Lord, the floods have lifted up their voice; the floods lift up their waves.

The Lord on high is mightier than the noise of many waters, yea, than the mighty waves of the sea.

Thy testimonies are very sure: holiness becometh thine house, O Lord, for ever.

  1. This is the proper thread to report this praise:

I went to a Lions zone meeting at Etowah last evening.
A few months ago, I told you about a “spot camera” they have and were demonstrating it at a school. They discovered a pre-school girl with a serious eye problem.
They reported last night that she has had one operation and will have another.
But the prognosis is that she will mature with normal vision.
We were all happy about that.

  2. I need to ask for some prayers for BG. Seven years ago she had some bald spots in her hair. The dermatologist diagnosed it as alopecia. Just recently I noticed a bald spot in the back of her had. We went to the dermatologist this morning. They gave her five shots in the spots and the hair should start growing again soon. This is an autoimmune disease and having hypothyroidism doesn’t help. I just don’t want it to turn into more.

  3. Will do, Kim. I hope the diagnosis is wrong. I have a real issue with bald spots myself and don’t like it as an older adult. It can be so difficult on a young person. Thyroid disease is very hard on hair.

  4. Praying for BG, and praising God with you, Chas, for that wonderful report above.

I’m feeling a little out-of-sorts today. A fairly new friend of mine and I had a mutually-agreed-upon and amicable parting of ways yesterday. Our life circumstances are very different from each other, so it was kind of an unlikely friendship from the start, but we both grew to love each other in that short time (I’ve known her for a couple years, but we didn’t really become friends until a few months ago), and have exchanged “I love you”s with each other.

I can’t explain what happened, but, in the end, we both thought it best to go our separate ways, so to speak, though we didn’t actually say those words.

I’ve had friendships come to an end because time or circumstances just led to drifting away, but this “ending” (I think it’s an ending, but maybe it really isn’t — who knows?) is kind of hard to process right now, even though in some ways it seems like a strange kind of relief.

That probably sounds vague, but that’s really about all I can say about it. I’m having a hard time concentrating on things I should be focusing on, and I’d just like to move on with my regular life, which is full with many things, but I’m finding it hard to do that today.

    Thank you for your prayers.

  5. Went to the doctor today to check out that lump on the back of my ankle. He says it is a knot in my tendon. I need to be on an anti-inflammatory for three to four weeks, flex the muscles daily, apply hot compresses once or twice a day, & massage it. He said I’ll probably still have a lump there, though smaller, because of possible scar tissue, but as long as it doesn’t cause pain, that’s okay.

Thanking Jesus I don’t have to go for any expensive tests. 🙂

  6. Hillary’s missing suitcase has yet to turn up in Catania after a week–and of course, as she says, she foolishly packed important papers she needs now, into the bag.

So, let’s pray it shows up–sooner rather than later.

  7. One of my students just went on furlough with her family. Just heard this morning that they made it to the US with all their luggage. But, while eating at a fast food place on the way home from the airport, someone broke a window in the car and stole several backpacks. Gone is their computer, computer backup, passports, and special toys of the children. Prayers appreciated.

  8. Thank you, Karen, and to all who prayed re: my 4:06. I feel better now, having written that out (though it probably sounded pretty unclear and maybe rather bizarre), and I am thankful to know that the situation’s been prayed over.

  9. Prayed/ing for all the above.

KarenO: I encourage you to be diligent in your exercises and massaging the area – Tim had some tendon trouble and it took a year of working on his heel every day, but it is all good now.

  10. Heavenly Father,

Thank You for this form of supernatural communication with You. Thank You for the faith of those who believe in You and also that our prayers touch You in important ways that we don’t fully understand. Thank You for how benefits the one engaged in prayer and also the ones being prayed over. Prayer is so much better than the alternative of being worried, anxious, and stressed. Thank You for the gift of prayer.

Father God, Abba, You are aware of each of the life situations mentioned on this thread. You have heard the prayer responses over these prayers. I add mine to the ones already voiced. Please do some mighty works in each area of need. I ask this in the name of Jesus, Amen
