  1. I buy gas in Oregon. It is at least $.30 a gallon cheaper. So it will go up another $.15? How much of this will it take for people to stop voting for Democrats?

I am disgusted with Liberals/ Democrats. “My parents were Democrats so I am a Democrat!”

I am not to call anybody “Raca!” Therefore I should and will say nothing.

  2. I fear for my country. President Obama has been wrong about everything. Do I expect to have him admit he has been wrong? No. Do I expect to see him repent (turn about and go the opposite way)? No.

    I fear for my country.

  3. Bob – I do, too.

It amazes me when I realize that certain Facebook friends, one of whom I know “IRL” (in real life) actually thinks Obama is a good president doing good things. Not only that, but they see Republicans as evil, thinking that they are actively trying to subjugate women & minorities. Really? That’s crazy.

I really hate the attitude many have that not wanting to pay for (or cover via insurance) a woman’s contraceptives is the same as trying to control her body & sex life. (I’ve seen it spelled out in quite vulgar language.) Or that abortion is the truly compassionate way of helping a women with unplanned pregnancies.

I have to keep reminding myself that God is still on the throne, & is still sovereign.

  4. Many of my pro-Obama friends have fallen mostly silent … although I do know also that they, ahem, blame Bush & conservatives for ruining his opportunities in office.

They don’t see him as a failed leader.

They see him as someone who was sabotaged unfairly and at every turn by the other side (even foiled, remarkably, while the Dems dominated & literally owned the entire federal government for 4 years straight. Evil Fox News & talk radio, they ruined it all!).

  5. At a continuing education seminar last week I heard a couple of very detailed speeches on Obamacare from pro-Obama speakers. We are clearly doomed. The worst parts of Obamacare will make the private part of our healthcare system like Medicare and Medicaid. Soon we will have 10% of Americans paying 60% of their income to 30% of Americans who will be providing free food and healthcare to the other 60% of Americans.

  6. Ricky – My liberal young friend has posted some anti-Texas stuff, along with her usual anti-conservative stuff, on Facebook lately. One thing she posted claims that, due to its practice of only teaching abstinence education, Texas has the nation’s 5th highest birthrate among teenagers, & the highest rate of repeat births among teenagers. Is that all true?

Last night she posted one that said that Texas is, among other things, #1 in worker deaths, #1 in poverty level jobs, & rates 50th in high school graduation.

Of course, her point is that, if all that is true, it is the fault of conservative policies.

I was hoping maybe you could shed some light on these things, & also hoping this is not all true.

  7. Karen O, What is true is that more Americans are moving to Texas than any other state.

I am very encouraged by the growth in anti-Texas feeling around the country. Please tell your liberal friend that she should work to kick Texas out of the nation. Otherwise, we are planning to force all liberals to carry guns, drive large pickups, watch Duck Dynasty and eat at Chick-Fil-A.

  8. So why are so many Americans moving to Texas if Texas is so bad?

Option 1: Americans are stupid. Given the last few elections, this answer must be considered. However, my experience has been that our immigrants are much smarter than average Americans.

Option 2: Americans are masochists. Again, given recent perverse behavior by Americans, this must be considered. However, I don’t think I have seen an “M” appear in LGBTQXYZ, etc.

Option 3: Texas is still one of the least socialist and perverted places left in the US.

However, I am fearful it will not stay that way if it stays unequally yoked to the US, so please kick us out of the Union.

  9. Why the hatred of Florida? It is full of Yankees and would have to be decontaminated before it could rejoin the Confederacy.

If liberals hate Texas, they should visit Oklahoma. The Okies view Dallas and Houston as Sodom and Gomorrah.

  10. I can’t remember what it was, but there was something coming out of Fla. recently that led to some renewed liberal outrage. 🙂

We’re losing some companies to Texas and I often hear people smugly say, “well, there’s just one problem with that — they have to live in Texas.”

“Oh, don’t worry,” I usually say (with a wink.). “They’ll adapt.”

  11. It might be the Stand Your Ground law that has people up-in-arms (pun intended) about Florida. My liberal young friend recently shared a post about that, & said she would never live in Florida.

Supposedly, some guy was recently acquitted of shooting someone in the back several times, with the Stand Your Ground defense. I didn’t read up on it, but I’d assume there’s more to the story than that. At least, I hope so.
