Prayer Requests 7-31-14

Anyone have a request or praise they’d like to share?

It’s Thursday, so don’t forget to pray for Jo, her students, and the rest of the folks in PNG. 🙂

Psalm 32

¹Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered.

Blessed is the man unto whom the Lord imputeth not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile.

When I kept silence, my bones waxed old through my roaring all the day long.

For day and night thy hand was heavy upon me: my moisture is turned into the drought of summer. Selah.

I acknowledge my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the Lord; and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah.

For this shall every one that is godly pray unto thee in a time when thou mayest be found: surely in the floods of great waters they shall not come nigh unto him.

Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah.

I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.

Be ye not as the horse, or as the mule, which have no understanding: whose mouth must be held in with bit and bridle, lest they come near unto thee.

10 Many sorrows shall be to the wicked: but he that trusteth in the Lord, mercy shall compass him about.

11 Be glad in the Lord, and rejoice, ye righteous: and shout for joy, all ye that are upright in heart.

  1. I took a picture of my class this week for the book I made. Well a parent asked for a copy and posted it on facebook. I did not realize that this class of 13 is from 7 different countries!
Prayers appreciated as I met with a parent today to discuss their child. Pray that the decision that is made will be best for the child.

  2. Tim is going in for an MRI – to a city 1 ½ hours from the hospital he is in (how does a hospital that serves the northern half of the province not have an MRI?). I don’t know if I’ll have to drive him or not. He is feeling much better – the c-collar seems to have done the trick to allow muscles to relax. Please continue to pray that he’ll make a quick recovery and that I’ll be able to hold down the home front and do what is necessary to take care of him. I’m not looking forward to having to drive him to Saskatoon – crazy traffic there – not a large city, but very poor traffic planning/roads. He is supposed to be working the long weekend this week, and if he can’t, he has a ton of re-organizing and other work to do – he is the boss, after all 🙂

  3. Jo, I always feel for the teacher when he/she needs to discuss serious issues with the parents. Prayers. I did pray for the other requests yesterday, as well.

  4. Heavenly Father,

You are so brilliant in the way You put things together to make them work together for good for those who love You and those who are called according to Your purposes.

Lord, You know all the details about the situation Jo mentioned. I don’t understand enough to know what to pray. I ask that the Holy Spirit do some groaning over this one. It sounds very complicated. Please fill Jo with peace knowing that she is not the reason the child’s safety may have been compromised. We can’t see all Your designs to keep people safe. Now, Lord, additional precautions will be put in place to keep others safe. Thank You for this helpful warning.

Lord, I also lift up Tim and what is causing his pain. Thank you for the medical apparatus that is bringing relief and rest from pain. Thank You for the inventor and the knowledge you gave to help many in similar ordeals. I pray for safe travels to Saskatoon for the MRI. May Kare constantly feel the benefit of Your presence as if she is truly lifted above the circumstances to stand on Your strength when she feels weak. Please help Tim to efficiently make arrangements for the work to carry on in his absence. Please, may things supernaturally be worked out through Your divine assistance.

Thank You, Lord God, for the ways You are active in all our lives. You are beyond awesome yesterday, today and for all eternity. In Jesus’ name, Amen

  5. Kathleena, that sounds like good fun to me. The older children I work with in Sunday School require more complicated crafts and activities. It can be a challenge.

  6. A NY publisher wants to see Poppy. We’re promising it for Monday. I’m emotional ( just wrote a blog post about how hard it is to say goodbye to your novel– and scheduled it to run NEXT Friday to give myself time to tweak!). To God be the glory–now I’m crying–pray I get it fixed this weekend. Thanks.

  7. Praises: Tim is home and feeling much better. He felt well enough to be discharged and then I took him to my office to use the laser on him while the pharmacy filled his prescriptions. He is feeling so much better now. His MRI was down-graded to urgent and he will have it some time this week. It is so nice to come here and know you all will be praying. Please pray for continued healing and that other than missing a few days of work, it won’t affect his job.
