  1. The next stage of political advertising — targeted ads on your TV:

“As you will have noticed, internet advertisers are bombarding you with ads tailored just for you, based on your browsing history and the volumes of data that the marketers have put together about you. That technology is finding its way to television. Watch for its use in political advertising. In his last election, Chris Christie’s campaign bought ads on Friday Night Wrestling after they found that its viewers don’t vote much, but could probably be persuaded to vote for Christie. And if you have satellite TV, you may be getting ads that your neighbor watching the same program isn’t getting. …”

  2. My son just called my attention to the new 707 horsepower Dodge Challenger Hellcat. Since we appear to be entering a Mini-Ice Age, it is important that we all do what we can to warm the Earth. Those of you who want to save the planet can contribute to the Save the Planet with Hellcats Fund. We need to raise $120,000 to buy two. Note that we are each making do with the base model and selecting the standard transmission for fuel efficiency and because we are men. After the vehicles have been purchased, we promise to drive them all over Texas spewing carbon dioxide.

  3. Is it a 707 Dodge, like the Boeing 707?
Or is it really 707 horsepower. Fact is, I don’t believe a real 707 hp car. You wouldn’t be able to control such a car. It must have a dozen gears.

  4. I made the above comment before watching the link.
I still don’t believe it. Is a car going to stay on the road at 200 mph? You need to stay in West Texas because it’s going to take that far to stop.

  5. Chas, I think you probably need a Hellcat. It would certainly get a few looks in the church parking lot.

I wouldn’t drive it 200 mph, but it sure would be fun on those West Texas interstate highways.

  6. Interesting link anon. And that last line:

“It is still a hard thing to derail America in a summer — but then again, we have a long way to go until fall.”
