Prayer Requests 7-3-14

Anyone have a request or praise to share today?

And it’s Thursday, so don’t forget to pray for Jo and the folks in PNG.

Psalm 7

¹O Lord my God, in thee do I put my trust: save me from all them that persecute me, and deliver me:

Lest he tear my soul like a lion, rending it in pieces, while there is none to deliver.

O Lord my God, If I have done this; if there be iniquity in my hands;

If I have rewarded evil unto him that was at peace with me; (yea, I have delivered him that without cause is mine enemy:)

Let the enemy persecute my soul, and take it; yea, let him tread down my life upon the earth, and lay mine honour in the dust. Selah.

Arise, O Lord, in thine anger, lift up thyself because of the rage of mine enemies: and awake for me to the judgment that thou hast commanded.

So shall the congregation of the people compass thee about: for their sakes therefore return thou on high.

The Lord shall judge the people: judge me, O Lord, according to my righteousness, and according to mine integrity that is in me.

Oh let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end; but establish the just: for the righteous God trieth the hearts and reins.

10 My defence is of God, which saveth the upright in heart.

11 God judgeth the righteous, and God is angry with the wicked every day.

12 If he turn not, he will whet his sword; he hath bent his bow, and made it ready.

13 He hath also prepared for him the instruments of death; he ordaineth his arrows against the persecutors.

14 Behold, he travaileth with iniquity, and hath conceived mischief, and brought forth falsehood.

15 He made a pit, and digged it, and is fallen into the ditch which he made.

16 His mischief shall return upon his own head, and his violent dealing shall come down upon his own pate.

17 I will praise the Lord according to his righteousness: and will sing praise to the name of the Lord most high.

  1. I mentioned on here that my pastor from my family church, retired while I was in Africa. He and his wife had served for many years in African missions, first as missionaries to Somalia, then after they were forced out of that country, as regional directors. They were very supportive of my going, ensuring that I would be fully supported. The pastor’s wife gave me a lot of good council when I was preparing to go – she prepared me for what I could face. When I got home, they had moved. I wanted to go to visit and tell them about what I had been doing, but, though I saw them at my second sibling’s wedding (he performed the ceremony) I haven’t been able to get there. Last night, we got a phone call saying the pastor’s wife had died from a massive stroke. Pray for the pastor – they were never able to have children, so he is left very alone.

  2. Please pray for my M-i-L Betty. She has had a rough time recovering from hip surgery. She is going to the doctor this afternoon because the home therapist says her incision looks infected, and isn’t healing properly. She also has some nerve issues and recovery isn’t progressing as it should. She’s worried and upset and could use some prayer.

Also for my wife, who is obviously upset, and missing her Mom and the distance makes things worse. Thanks.

  3. 13 year-old Shane in brain surgery today far from home with just mom.

He’s had seizures his entire life. With Obamacare, family was dismayed to have to change their healthcare provider from the docs who had cared for him his whole life.

New docs did a rework and told the parents he has a very rare disorder–why wasn’t this treated years ago with surgery?

Scary, but relieved. Please pray. The story of God at work is very interesting.
