Prayer Requests 6-21-14

Anyone have a request or praise they’d like to share?

Psalm 147

¹Praise ye the Lord: for it is good to sing praises unto our God; for it is pleasant; and praise is comely.

The Lord doth build up Jerusalem: he gathereth together the outcasts of Israel.

He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.

He telleth the number of the stars; he calleth them all by their names.

Great is our Lord, and of great power: his understanding is infinite.

The Lord lifteth up the meek: he casteth the wicked down to the ground.

Sing unto the Lord with thanksgiving; sing praise upon the harp unto our God:

Who covereth the heaven with clouds, who prepareth rain for the earth, who maketh grass to grow upon the mountains.

He giveth to the beast his food, and to the young ravens which cry.

10 He delighteth not in the strength of the horse: he taketh not pleasure in the legs of a man.

11 The Lord taketh pleasure in them that fear him, in those that hope in his mercy.

12 Praise the Lord, O Jerusalem; praise thy God, O Zion.

13 For he hath strengthened the bars of thy gates; he hath blessed thy children within thee.

14 He maketh peace in thy borders, and filleth thee with the finest of the wheat.

15 He sendeth forth his commandment upon earth: his word runneth very swiftly.

16 He giveth snow like wool: he scattereth the hoarfrost like ashes.

17 He casteth forth his ice like morsels: who can stand before his cold?

18 He sendeth out his word, and melteth them: he causeth his wind to blow, and the waters flow.

19 He sheweth his word unto Jacob, his statutes and his judgments unto Israel.

20 He hath not dealt so with any nation: and as for his judgments, they have not known them. Praise ye the Lord.

  1. Many of you remember our dear friend, EYG. Here is a prayer request she wrote on Facebook. As you read, keep in mind that she is an HSP (Highly Sensitive Person), which is kind of like having a sensory processing disorder (I’m that way, too). . .

“I’m sure there are people somewhere who have moved more times than we have… Packing and hauling and storing and reinstalling stuff is NEVER FUN!!! Neither is downsizing even further.

“We are spending our last night tonight at the Lawrenceburg Tiny House that we’ve lived in these last 5 years. God has done a lot of work in us here. We have many wonderful memories.

“Please pray for us as we go, for a safe and hopefully swift move. And a peaceful one (My body is stressing out, terribly)

“Please pray for God’s will, his peace and favor on us as we move to a new town (wonderful Franklin, TN) to reside with my widowed mother. We feel led to this and will be relieved when the upheaval is through.

“In my dreams, I’m going on a two week cruise after this… But in the absence of that fulfillment, PLEASE PRAY for my nerves and stress level, that they will know peace and calm as if they were on said cruise.

    “Thanks.”

  3. My daughter just left for her summer/life, adventure in LA. She’ll be living with hostile-to-Christians but loving-to-her relatives while taking an anatomy class at UCLA. She’s wonderful in a million ways (tears starting in my eyes) and plans to help out with Campus Crusade for Christ activities at UCLA and in a planned out reach to Santa Monica–though she hasn’t told the relatives that. 🙂

Life is ahead of her and she’s as excited/anxious as any twenty-something. She’d love to hear about an ER scribe job she’s hoping for in Santa Barbara which will cement her plans, but over the last two days is starting to wonder if there might be something else for her and she may not return to Santa Barbara.

I don’t know, but she’s got three great connections (one she hasn’t even met yet) in LA this summer who could send her off into a different, and equally God-driven, direction toward her goal.

And then there’s this handsome smart guy she won’t let me set her up with on a blind date . . . 🙂

Help this mom’s heart and pray she’d hear the direction God has for her and follow it–safely. 🙂

  4. Michelle – Said a prayer for your daughter. It’s so hard to let them go (even when they’re still living with you 😉 ).

  5. Yes, Michelle. There is always a little missing in our lives, no matter how content we are as a rule.

We often visit Franklin, TN, since our daughter lives near there. She usually drives through town on her way to work, in fact. It is a lovely, lovely place. Of course, Lawrenceburg is nice, too. It is a big change, I am sure to live with a MIL.

    Prayers for peaceful, joyful adjustments.
