Prayer Requests 6-7-14

Anyone have a request or praise they’d like to share?

Psalm 135

¹Praise ye the Lord. Praise ye the name of the Lord; praise him, O ye servants of the Lord.

Ye that stand in the house of the Lord, in the courts of the house of our God.

Praise the Lord; for the Lord is good: sing praises unto his name; for it is pleasant.

For the Lord hath chosen Jacob unto himself, and Israel for his peculiar treasure.

For I know that the Lord is great, and that our Lord is above all gods.

Whatsoever the Lord pleased, that did he in heaven, and in earth, in the seas, and all deep places.

He causeth the vapours to ascend from the ends of the earth; he maketh lightnings for the rain; he bringeth the wind out of his treasuries.

Who smote the firstborn of Egypt, both of man and beast.

Who sent tokens and wonders into the midst of thee, O Egypt, upon Pharaoh, and upon all his servants.

10 Who smote great nations, and slew mighty kings;

11 Sihon king of the Amorites, and Og king of Bashan, and all the kingdoms of Canaan:

12 And gave their land for an heritage, an heritage unto Israel his people.

13 Thy name, O Lord, endureth for ever; and thy memorial, O Lord, throughout all generations.

14 For the Lord will judge his people, and he will repent himself concerning his servants.

15 The idols of the heathen are silver and gold, the work of men’s hands.

16 They have mouths, but they speak not; eyes have they, but they see not;

17 They have ears, but they hear not; neither is there any breath in their mouths.

18 They that make them are like unto them: so is every one that trusteth in them.

19 Bless the Lord, O house of Israel: bless the Lord, O house of Aaron:

20 Bless the Lord, O house of Levi: ye that fear the Lord, bless the Lord.

21 Blessed be the Lord out of Zion, which dwelleth at Jerusalem. Praise ye the Lord.

  1. Praises for the heavy rain we are getting in the last hour. It is filling up water tanks and clearing the air of the smoke from all the fires that were set today. When it doesn’t rain for a week, people set fires to burn off the tall grass. So much smoke tonight that you couldn’t see far.

  2. Quints and family, big brother, and 4 others to help are flying through the night tonight on a 16 hour flight from Dallas to Brisbane. They will spend several days in Brisbane and fly up here on Friday.

  3. Prayer please for VBS. Particularly one little girl who is very resistant to hearing about God but she really wanted to go to VBS. And one little boy who has the attention span of a gnat unless he wants to pay attention. And he generally has no interest in people talking. But he loves God and also wanted to go. And a couple of twelve year olds who are really too big but one is a helper and the other is loving playing with the smaller children. Thanks.

  4. More prayer requested, please. I have been under quite a bit of stress lately, and my husband and I both agreed that probably the best thing I could do (in addition to what I’m already trying) is to take up running again, as that was a HUGE stress-buster when I was in my 20’s and running regularly. For various reasons, I could not keep it up, though, by the time I was about 30, and did not try to return to it until last year, when I was 50.

    Different game entirely, and I injured myself within about two weeks (despite being 20-25 pounds less than I was in my 20s, which I thought would make it easier). I reluctantly gave up the running last year then, as it hurt physically, but I had felt so good emotionally, even in that short a period of time.

    I so long for a return to that emotional high, which helps me be much better able to meet my family’s needs. I am praying that I will be able to run well, knowing what discomfort to push through, and being in tune to when I need to hold back to keep from injuring myself, so that I don’t have to get to the point where I have to give it up again.

    Please pray that I will be able to make this a regular part of my lifestyle again. Thank you.

  5. After weeks of whining and asking you all to pray for me about my housing situation, sometime over the weekend I found peace. What will be will be and I have no control. Something will work out.

  6. Heavenly Father,

    Thank You for listening to us as we bring our needs to You. We believe in You and honor You by our requests. We know You as the One God who listens, cares, loves, and acts upon requests. There are many.gods in this world, but You are the only living and active and fully trustworthy God on whom we trust in life with all our concerns.

    Lord, I was not expecting it, but I just heard a thunder boom and now the rain is falling. I hear Your voice through the activities of Your creation. You say with the thunder boom, “I made this!” And the rain falls. Your actions speak and we can not ignore that even if we neglect reading Your word.

    Many are the needs listed on this thread tonight. Please help those at the nest who are participating in Bible School. May the program be so engaging and have inspiring activities and effective leadership so that the children will be totally engaged and not want to miss a moment through misbehavior or drawing undue attention to themselves. May they desire more of You for themselves and understand they can help other children to know and love You through their good example of caring behaviors.

    Please help 6 Arrows to get back into an exercise routine. Help her body to adjust to the rigors of running. If that for some reason does not work out then I pray You will provide another outlet for exercise. Help her to be open to other possibilities if necessary. I pray all went well for her daughter in her new work situation.

    Please give traveling mercies to the quints, their family members and helpers. Thank You for the joys multiplied by having so many born at once, and thank You for being a help through the challenges. Bless Jo as she spends time with these dear ones. And please bless her with a good way to get her groceries or to make do until her new van arrives.

    Thank You for restoring peace to Kim’s troubled mind. May the move generate new feelings of excitement as she turns another space into her personalized nest. You know the needs, Lord. Please provide abundantly.

    Thank You for this quiet time alone with You which was highlighted by the thunder boom. Please work on the other things I am lifting to You that are too numerous to list. In Jesus’name, Amen
