Prayer Requests 4-30-14

Today is Wednesday, so please remember to pray for the folks in The Gambia.

Anyone else have a request?

Psalm 92

¹It is a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord, and to sing praises unto thy name, O Most High:

To shew forth thy lovingkindness in the morning, and thy faithfulness every night,

Upon an instrument of ten strings, and upon the psaltery; upon the harp with a solemn sound.

For thou, Lord, hast made me glad through thy work: I will triumph in the works of thy hands.

O Lord, how great are thy works! and thy thoughts are very deep.

A brutish man knoweth not; neither doth a fool understand this.

When the wicked spring as the grass, and when all the workers of iniquity do flourish; it is that they shall be destroyed for ever:

But thou, Lord, art most high for evermore.

For, lo, thine enemies, O Lord, for, lo, thine enemies shall perish; all the workers of iniquity shall be scattered.

10 But my horn shalt thou exalt like the horn of an unicorn: I shall be anointed with fresh oil.

11 Mine eye also shall see my desire on mine enemies, and mine ears shall hear my desire of the wicked that rise up against me.

12 The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree: he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon.

13 Those that be planted in the house of the Lord shall flourish in the courts of our God.

14 They shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be fat and flourishing;

15 To shew that the Lord is upright: he is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in him.

  1. Thank you for the prayers you offered up in regard to my requests two days ago for my friend K and my niece R, who were flying/driving home in potentially dangerous weather. K and her husband and baby got home safely, as I noted Monday night on the prayer thread. Also, the tornadoes that hit Alabama that night did not get into their county, though at least two of the surrounding counties did have tornado warnings.

My niece also got back to the States safely (flying from Barcelona to Chicago). Her last flight left O’Hare one hour later than scheduled, but other than that, everything went as well as could be expected, both with flying and driving home after the last flight.

Also, thanks for your prayers in my absence from the online world this past week, and for the kind, encouraging sentiments expressed by Janice and Ajisuun on the prayer thread a week ago when I announced my (then) upcoming internet hiatus. I did go back to read the prayer requests I’ve missed, and have prayed specifically for those issues that haven’t been resolved yet.

I’ll be back offline again (except for checking email once a day), but if anyone here has any concern you think I should know about, please feel free to contact me (several people here have my email), and I will certainly pray.

Miss you! But I know this is the path I need to be on for now.

    Blessings.

  2. Heavenly Father,

Thank You for the plans You have for us. We know they are good plans. Heaven is in our future and not one of us could hope for anything greater.

Tomorrow is our National Day of Prayer. I hope above all that You will feel loved by Your children in our nation. You are love and You attract our love for so many reasons. May You feel a fountain of love through prayers tomorrow. I also pray that because there are sincere believers in our nation that You will show mercy upon our nation. The cororate sins of our nation reach out into all of the beautiful world You created. Many in our nation are not wanting our policies regarding abortion and gay marriage within our own land, much less wanting those to be exported and forced upon other nations as bargaining tools for financial support. Please save us from the deserved ruin our leaders have determined for us by going against Your laws and appropriate boundaries.

Today I lift up the missionaries in The Gambia. Thank You for Your divine presence leading them as they are compliant to filling needs You show them. Encourage them to see what good they reap from their persistent efforts. I also lift up Jo in PNG as she is planting Your Scripture seeds into the hearts of her young students. May the seeds grow steady and strong so they last a lifetime. Thank You for the good facility where Jo is able to keep physically fit. And thank You for the lovely smile You gave her that makes people automatically smile back when they see her in person or photo.

Thank You, Lord, for allowing people on the blog to meet and share good times. That is so special and not something we can ever take for granted. You are so good.

Please bless Mumsee and Mike with a special line of communication over the miles. Help Mumsee to be a pillar of strength and compassion to the Nest children.

I pray in the name of Jesus, Amen
