Prayer Requests 4-8-14

Anyone have a request or praise they’d like to share?

Let’s all remember to keep Karen O. and her husband Lee in prayer as they prepare for Lee’s tests tomorrow. Thanks.

Psalm 75

¹Unto thee, O God, do we give thanks, unto thee do we give thanks: for that thy name is near thy wondrous works declare.

When I shall receive the congregation I will judge uprightly.

The earth and all the inhabitants thereof are dissolved: I bear up the pillars of it. Selah.

I said unto the fools, Deal not foolishly: and to the wicked, Lift not up the horn:

Lift not up your horn on high: speak not with a stiff neck.

For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south.

But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another.

For in the hand of the Lord there is a cup, and the wine is red; it is full of mixture; and he poureth out of the same: but the dregs thereof, all the wicked of the earth shall wring them out, and drink them.

But I will declare for ever; I will sing praises to the God of Jacob.

10 All the horns of the wicked also will I cut off; but the horns of the righteous shall be exalted.

  1. I am feeling so low today, about everything, but Lee’s cancer & his route, in particular. Praying God will release him from this route in some way, & also provide another source of income. With the insane hours he puts in, he doesn’t have time for treatments or doctors visits.

After work today, he is supposed to pick up some dye he needs to take before his CT scan.

His work truck is being worked on (it will “only” cost $900 to fix the problem with the brakes). The man who’s truck he is temporarily renting has an interested buyer, so Lee needs to get it to the man’s home so the buyer can take a look at it.

This will make it so that he can’t get to the hospital in time to pick up the dye. So, he decided to postpone the 8:15 a.m. Wed. appointment with the oncologist so he can get to the hospital in the morning instead, before his other appointments start.

A lady from the oncologist’s office called, saying he really shouldn’t postpone that appt., because his urologist (or whatever he is) really wants him to see the oncologist ASAP. The lady (who was very nice) said she’d try his cell phone.

After that call, I remembered that his cell phone is “dead”, because the rental truck’s cigarette lighter isn’t working. So she may not reach him in time.

I’m just in a “Can anything go right for once?” kind of mood. And I am so scared.

  2. Lee finally called me, when he was back in his own car, & I told him what the lady said, & he tried to call her, but the office was closed by then.

Now he’s on his way to the hospital to try to pick up the dye, hoping he makes it in time. He’s going to go to the appointment tomorrow morning, hoping they kept it open for him.

  3. Continuing in prayer for you and Lee, Karen. We don’t know what the Lord is orchestrating in all this, but He is faithful. He will bring you through the storm.

    Peace and blessings in Christ.

  4. Karen, I wish I could hold you, or help with childcare, or some “practical” help, but you have my prayers (the best thing I could possibly give, anyway, taking you to the One who loves you most and knows you best).

  5. I do have tears as I read through this prayer thread. I totally do not understand why some people do have more troubles than others seem to have. I can think back over my 60 years and have recollection of a few families that did seem to be having such a string of non-relenting major stresses. They have all been good people, too, that you would not expect to have such difficulties. We are all forming a circle of prayer around you and your family during this time, Karen. We are your brothers and sisters in Christ (as we are to Lee, also). I hope you will feel that supernatural lifting above the troubles.

  6. Janice, I was thinking the same thing — Karen, you seem to have had more than your share of late. Praying also for your health, that you’re able to get enough sleep and rest in the midst of all the turmoil.
