Prayer Requests 3-19-14

Anyone have a request or praise to share today?

And it’s Wednesday, so don’t forget The Gambia. 🙂

Psalm 54

¹Save me, O God, by thy name, and judge me by thy strength.

Hear my prayer, O God; give ear to the words of my mouth.

For strangers are risen up against me, and oppressors seek after my soul: they have not set God before them. Selah.

Behold, God is mine helper: the Lord is with them that uphold my soul.

He shall reward evil unto mine enemies: cut them off in thy truth.

I will freely sacrifice unto thee: I will praise thy name, O Lord; for it is good.

For he hath delivered me out of all trouble: and mine eye hath seen his desire upon mine enemies.

  1. Two more days of school in Term 3. Then conferences on Monday and Tuesday. Prayers for wisdom and good communication during conferences.
Then we have a two week term break. Please pray that I will have an opportunity to get off centre. I have not been out of this one square mile since I returned in January. I have a hankering to see what is over the hill and outside the gate. However it can also be dangerous and risky out there. Prayers for safety appreciated should I get to go. The roads themselves can be quite dangerous and also the rascals. I need to go with a family or a least a guy, not just gals.

  2. Heavenly Father,

Thank You for the discernment You give to Christians to guide them in paths of righteousness and safety. Thank You for keeping careful watch over our missionary friends on this blog. I pray for those in The Gambia with Ajisuan. Help her and her team to make a world of difference in the lives of people in that land. May Your light shine brightly in the land and overcome the darkness. Help those who deal with fatigue to have new bursts of energy and inspiration. I ask that You would provide some surprises of simple gifts, maybe something like a new food that tastes delightful, etc.

Lord, I also lift up Jo. She is such a bravehearted soul to do what she does. Please provide for her a way of traveling safely out from her safe abode. May she have opportunity to see some of the beauty of Your creation in her area. She needs a bit of refreshment, a slight change of scenery to renew her spirit and to give her new things to discuss with the children. Please help her to accurately access the abilities of the children she teaches and to fine tune what she will say in a diplomatic way to the parents at conference time. May words spoken be edifying and encouraging to all.

Lord, all hearts join in sadness over the ruling about young boy Forrest’s custody. Righteous anger says shame on that mwdiator who obviosly lacks common sense. I pray for all custody cases under the authority of that mediator. Please help them all to be given better resolution through another more wise and caring person. Lord, I do pray that the heart of that mediator would be turned to know Jesus and that love and compassion would result. If that can’t be then I pray for that mediator to move along to some other position. Please Lord. You set people up and can move them to places where their personality and skill set can be better utilized.

Also, Lord, I pray for Cheryl to have guidance and wisdom to booster her challenge of informing her relatives of the false teaching and dangerous ideas of Gothard. You know, Father God, the negativity I saw in my brother which I now relate to those programs he attended. I did not realize how cult like it was. Thank You for finally helping people to see the truth. Help Cheryl’s relatives to not be mad at her for shedding light. May they not take her communication as a source of being made to feel foolish. May they see her help as caring and as a revealing of Your truth as a way to give them a better life. Please help her to find a male relative that might help relay the information if that would make it more palatable. Shed mercy and grace upon encounters. May it all be pleasing in Your sight.

Thank You for the opportunities Ree’s daughter has. May all go well in her presentation of herself in her meetings. Give her confidence. Please give traveling mercies. I ask continuing blessings upon Ree’s son, too.

Please give a quick recovery to my Pastor’s daughter from her c-section. Also, please meet the needs of M’s family for wellness and employment.

I pray in Jesus’ name, Amen

  3. Amen.

I have learned that this kind of thing is actually common these days. It is considered best for the child for the parents to split custody as evenly as possible, & for the child to have two homes. Emily & I were discussing this, & we agreed that a child should have one primary, “real” home, with the other parent’s home being a “home away from home”.

Please pray that R finally gets – & keeps – another job, which will cut down on the time he can have Forrest.

Donna – To answer your question from last night … Yes, the lawyer was with her. But I guess there wasn’t much he could do at this preliminary meeting. He told Emily afterwards that they are pretty much giving R room to mess up, & if/when he does, the arrangement will be changed.

It sounds like they will have to go to court to change the arrangement anytime there is a change in their own schedules.

What a mess we make of our lives, & even the lives of others, when we stray from God’s ways.

  4. Lord,

I do pray that Forrest’s dad will be blessed with a job he is good at and enjoys. I pray he will like all his coworkers and may even meet someone to be just the right kind of Christian influence to open his heart to You and Jesus. I pray he will have at least a 40 work week so he can earn money to support himself and Forrest, at least to do his share. I pray he will appreciate the good care that Karen gives lovingly to his son. Please work this situation out for good because Karen and Lee love You and ard called by You to help Forrest. In Jesus’name, Amen
