Prayer Requests 1-22-14

Anyone have a request or praise to share today?

And it’s Wednesday, so please remember the folks in The Gambia.

Psalm 3

¹Lord, how are they increased that trouble me! many are they that rise up against me.

Many there be which say of my soul, There is no help for him in God. Selah.

But thou, O Lord, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head.

I cried unto the Lord with my voice, and he heard me out of his holy hill. Selah.

I laid me down and slept; I awaked; for the Lord sustained me.

I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people, that have set themselves against me round about.

Arise, O Lord; save me, O my God: for thou hast smitten all mine enemies upon the cheek bone; thou hast broken the teeth of the ungodly.

Salvation belongeth unto the Lord: thy blessing is upon thy people. Selah.

  1. Please continue to pray for my daughter. She has always had difficulty with exams and this week is turning out to be no different. She knows her stuff, she can do everything she needs to in real life, but these scenarios she has to pass are taking her down. Please pray for God’s peace, calmness of mind and spirit, and that she will recall all she knows as she needs to. Thank you.

  2. I just received a text from Guy I (Used to) Work With. He asked me to call him. There is an opportunity out there with another real estate firm and he recommended me to the owner who is expecting my call. Could be an excellent opportunity. I need to make the RIGHT decision.

  3. It’s always an adventure, isn’t it?

I pray, Lord, you would be with both Karen’s daughter and Kim today. For Karen’s daughter, we ask that she would reap what she has sown as she’s studied and prepared for her exam. We ask for clarity of mind, peace of heart and the confidence that she can do what’s required of her. Thanks for her diligence and please provide her with what she needs.

For Kim, we ask for wisdom and insight into what you have ordained for her both this day, and into the future. Open her heart and mind to your truth and give her your ears to hear in this phone conversation. We thank you that you have plans for her that we cannot see, but that we can trust you with her life and that of her family.

For Mr. P, we ask for pain relief, but also for wisdom in how to proceed next. I’ll pray for imagination that Mr. P might consider things that have not seemed possible before and that you would use this time in his life for your glory. Thank you he’s not alone in this, but we also pray that this physical infirmity would not impact his sense of who he is and his value.

Thank you for the good things you have put into Mr. P’s heart and his love for Kim and I pray this time in their lives would be a good foundation for the blessings you have to come.

We love you, Lord, and we stand with our brothers and sisters in Gambia. Please provide the workers needed for that most rocky soul, and encouragement for our particular sister there in the field. Give them glimpses of your glory that cannot be denied by the nay-sayers round about them, and provide the workers with the stamina they need to perform the tasks you have given them this day.

We also pray for health, safety, wisdom and spiritual maturity among the believers. Thank you for their willingness to be your hands and feet; provide them with the tools they need and give them the peace that passes all understanding when our hearts are set on you.

And, one more thing, could we have rain in California, please?

  4. Praying alongside sisters and brothers in Christ. Please, Lord, bring opportunity for people to take notice of how You are the God Who delights in answering the prayers of Your believing children. We ask and hope it is in Your good will to give. Thank You in advance for Your good gifts todslay.
    In Jesus’ name, Amen

p.s. I just heard the cry of a hawk as a reminder that Your ears are open to hear the cries of Your beloved children. Again, You are so good!

  5. My SIL was turned down for the one remaining job opportunity in teaching that he thought he may have. He needs a job and benefits for his family. He does have some opportunities for subbing, but a more stable job would be better.

I add my prayers for the above, of course.
