Prayer Requests 1-17-14

Who has a request or praise to share today?

Psalm 149

¹Praise ye the Lord. Sing unto the Lord a new song, and his praise in the congregation of saints.

Let Israel rejoice in him that made him: let the children of Zion be joyful in their King.

Let them praise his name in the dance: let them sing praises unto him with the timbrel and harp.

For the Lord taketh pleasure in his people: he will beautify the meek with salvation.

Let the saints be joyful in glory: let them sing aloud upon their beds.

Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a two-edged sword in their hand;

To execute vengeance upon the heathen, and punishments upon the people;

To bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron;

To execute upon them the judgment written: this honour have all his saints. Praise ye the Lord.

  1. Whole family needs prayer. Hubby and I got in a argument over something the Kid did after the teacher’s conference. He still seems to be mad at me. Plus he wrecked his truck and the car is in bad shape. He is under financial pressure. I really need to find a job.

  2. Heavenly Father,

    Thank You for the praying friends here who are quick to lift each other up in prayer in times of need. Help us all to more strongly feel Your presence guiding us and loving on us when life seems to knock the breath out of us every so often. I ask that You would lift the spirits of any here who are dealing with feelings of defeat over their on-going difficulties. May they be given a fresh vision of how big You are to keep their problems in accurate perspective.

    Thank You for making me able to care for Bosley and enjoy the excitement and good humor a kitten brings into a household. Last year I was having issues with my knee and leg so that I could not have taken this on. Thank You for making this situation possible.

    In Jesus’ perfect name, Amen

  3. Janice, I know I mentioned to you before that you should write a book of prayers and you gave me a really good reason why you shouldn’t, BUT have you thought of writing a book of devotions????? You have a “ga eeee ft”. ( I once had a teacher who said gift with a really long eeee sound)

  4. I’m so sorry for all those challenges at once, KBells. May the Lord bring peace and resolution on all fronts.

    Please pray for my friend K and her mom V. K is taking her mom to an appointment today to discuss what options V has for insurance, as her health insurance was canceled. (Surprise, surprise. She is another victim of the “If you like your plan, you can keep it” lie.) 😦 V, who was widowed last year and worries about a lot of things, was told to go to the dot gov website to sign up, but K understandably does not want to mess with all that. They are sitting down this morning discussing with medical or insurance officials how to address V’s lack of insurance. K is requesting prayers for patience as she deals with this on her mother’s behalf.

  5. Thank you, Kim, for your encouragement. I’d be more inclined to do something on prayer because I think there are even more great devotionals out there than books on prayer. Maybe sometime I will consider it more earnestly.

    Lots of helicopters and sirens today. I don’t know what’s been happening. Just gives a bit of an unsettling feeling. There was a major gas leak on Wed. When a construction crew.hit a line a few miles from here. People had difficulty getting to church for prayer and Bible study. Also, on Sunday when husband picked me up from the airport and we headed home there was the smell of leaking natural gas out by the main expressway.

  6. Got news but no details that a SWAT team got called to a nearby apartment complex. A woman escaped from the apartment and a man shot and killed himself. I may know a few folks who live in the complex. We rarely have that much excitement around here. Maybe I will get more info later about who and why.
