Prayer Requests 12-27-13

Anyone have a request or praise to share today?

Psalm 122

¹I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the Lord.

Our feet shall stand within thy gates, O Jerusalem.

Jerusalem is builded as a city that is compact together:

Whither the tribes go up, the tribes of the Lord, unto the testimony of Israel, to give thanks unto the name of the Lord.

For there are set thrones of judgment, the thrones of the house of David.

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee.

Peace be within thy walls, and prosperity within thy palaces.

For my brethren and companions’ sakes, I will now say, Peace be within thee.

Because of the house of the Lord our God I will seek thy good.

  1. Update on last night’s situation…

After getting off the computer, I learned that R was claiming (through text messages) that he was going to go to court first thing in the morning to get an Emergency Order of Temporary Custody, & would go for full custody, along with other accusations & lies.

This morning, though, we don’t think he has done any such thing.

Emily had also texted his mom, M, about all this, asking her if she could check on Forrest sometime during the morning, as she works in the same town R lives in. She replied that she called R, but he wouldn’t listen to her & then hung up on her. So she will be going over to his place when she gets out of work at 12:30. (Oh, I just looked at the clock, & it is 12:30 now.) She will try to get him to let her bring Forrest home. (She lives in the same town we do.)

Around 12:15, he texted Emily, “So, are you ready to talk?” We know that he is just trying to re-open the argument from last night (which lasted into the wee hours), so Emily is waiting until after she hears from his mom.

BTW, he loves causing & feeding this “drama”.

A bright note – M said that if they ever go to court, she will testify that Emily is a good mother.

  2. Update #2…

M didn’t bother going to R’s place because if his attitude towards her on the phone. She knew he wouldn’t let her take Forrest.

Emily is now on her way over there to get him, with R’s consent. She agreed to only let him use butter knives for a while, & to get a certain kind of stepstool for little kids that has a barrier around it so they don’t fall down (R had also been aghast that she let F stand on his little chair at the counter, a whole foot off the ground).

As she was leaving, she was trying to make an appointment for the pediatrician to take a look at the cut, just to be extra safe.

BTW, having toddlers use paring knives is somewhat common, like in the Montessori way of training children to do simple tasks in the home, & Forrest has been doing that for a year with no other accidents. (Emily likes some of the Montessori practices, but not all of them.)
