Prayer Requests 11-4-13

Who can we pray for today?

Psalm 78:1-7

¹Give ear, O my people, to my law: incline your ears to the words of my mouth.

I will open my mouth in a parable: I will utter dark sayings of old:

Which we have heard and known, and our fathers have told us.

We will not hide them from their children, shewing to the generation to come the praises of the Lord, and his strength, and his wonderful works that he hath done.

For he established a testimony in Jacob, and appointed a law in Israel, which he commanded our fathers, that they should make them known to their children:

That the generation to come might know them, even the children which should be born; who should arise and declare them to their children:

That they might set their hope in God, and not forget the works of God, but keep his commandments:

  1. Please pray for my in-laws this week as my husband’s aunt died suddenly from an aneurism over the weekend. His mother (whom we’re really close to) is taking this really hard. There were 8 siblings in her family and this is the sister she was really, really close to. Plus she was the baby of the family and 10 years younger than my MiL, so it was really a shock. Her husband was somewhat older than her and he died last year. The really sad part is that they have a son who’s about 40 who is severely retarded due to undiagnosed thyroid issues at birth and he doesn’t understand what’s going on. He has a younger brother who is wonderful with him but I’m not sure his family will be up to handling him, so they may need to put him in a home. It’s all very sad.

Most of my in-laws are not believers. MiL and FiL have been very forceful over the years in letting us know that they are not interested in our “religion.” I am baffled at how they can face the death of their friends and family without contemplating their own eternity.
