Every single day is a blessed gift from Your gracious hand. Show us this day how to best use each minute for Your good purposes. May we honor and glorify You in small and large ways. Fill us today with joy and love that overflows into this needy world. Bless us so we may be a blessing to othrrs.
Lord, today I lift up Karen O’s family needs. Lead them in Your wisdom to a better living arrangement. May their upstairs renters find an excellent alternative. If nothing else, Lord, would a trailer in the back yard work as temporary extra housing? You know the needs. Please make known a solution.
Lord, I lift up our sisters in Christ in The Gambia. Please let Your favor be felt to the saturation point on them all this week. Please bring improving health where there has been disease. I pray You will meet all their physicsl, emotional, spiritual and financial needs. Recharge and revitalize their spirits. Help them be aware of the awesome impact their work is making in lives. Thank You for their dedication. Please reward it on earth and in heaven. Please give a good harvest for their sowing of Your word. I pray in the name of Jesus, Amen
Hubby’s company may have lost a client. These are jobs that would have gone to his truck. This has happened before and it usually works out but he seems a little worried.
Sorry, kBells. Work stress seems particularly painful for men. I’ll keep him in my prayers.
I’m beginning to wonder if Becca’s inability to find a playmate is something she’s doing vs. other kids just being mean. I ask for prayer for a discerning heart for me and for comfort that it will all work out eventually.
How do you do it, How do you tell your son, you can do anything you desire. When you cannot find a job, when everything in your life seems to be spinning out of control. One mistake in the check book has put you in what you feel like is an endless cycle of no recovers. No matter how hard you work and plain, checks clear at the wrong time, endless over draft charges and no end in sight. Where after being out of work for 7 months an only one interview, with resumes after resumes emailed out with nothing in return. How do you look yourself in the mirror an state it is going to be ok? How do you wake up every day and encourage you son, you can do great today in school and everything is going to ok, when you feel like a failure. How do you hold on to hope and joy, when fear and depressing is working hard to overtake you. How do you keep on moving forward, when everything is pulling you back.. Have I taken a left turn when God want me to take right turn? Is this the attack of the enemy trying to overtake me when God has a blessing in store for me, that I cannot see yet and the enemy is trying to stop it? Is God trying to teach me to be more humble? Is God preparing me how to trust in Him and Him alone, knowing what the future holds. How do you do it? Where is hope, love, joy, strength, faith, when all you see is failure? How do you move forward?
As I write this these passages have come to me
Ephesians 6″10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people. 19 Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, 20 for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should.
Lord help me, Help me to put on the correct armor, help me to stand, help me to see myself as You see me, Help me not to surrender to fear and depressing, Help me to not surrender to this feeling of failure, Help me to make it through these dark days, Help me not to quit, Help me to move forward.
Praying with you, Pastor Roy. I was just praying for you this morning and wondering how you are faring. Your son will see that, in spite of how you FEEL, you will keep praising and loving the Lord. He will learn that even though you do not know the mind of the Lord, you will keep trusting. You ARE in a hard place. You are NOT out of God’s hands.
After experiencing more of the same as yesterday, Lee went to the doctor after work today. He is scheduled for an endoscopy on Saturday. Some of the “intestinal distress”, so to speak, has lessened, but the bleeding is a concern that must be followed through on.
(BTW, we have no insurance, so please pray for favor in a payment plan.)
Well, I came here to ask for prayer and to tell you that I am battling depression and can’t seem to snap out of it. I talked to Mr. P and am considering seeing my doctor and going back on some medication to get me through the rough patches until I can handle things again on my own.
Then I read Roy’s and Karen’s posts and think to myself that my situation isn’t as bad as theirs and instead of whining and being depressed I should just get happy.
It’s either thanks guys or woe to all of us. I’ll let you know when I decide. I just am not a cryer and I sure have been crying a lot lately.
Kim – I often cry & get down about our present living situation, but then I look at others’ worse situations & feel guilty.
But the thing is, just because someone else’s situation is worse, that doesn’t mean that you don’t have your own troubles, & those troubles are very real to you. (As are mine to me.)
A stubbed toe may be “only” a stubbed toe, but it sure can hurt like you-know-what! Do what you need to do.
Kim – Another thought. Could you be entering that lovely time of a woman’s life that leads to “the change”? I started having peri-menopausal symptoms a few years before the real thing came on.

Work stress is almost always present in men. Even when things are going well.
A man usually sees his job as what defines him as a provider.
