Prayer Requests 8-14-13

Who has a request or praise to share today?

And it’s Wednesday, so please remember to pray for Gambia. 🙂

Psalm 1

1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.

But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.

Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.

For the Lord knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.

  1. Praying for Gambia. We haven’s seen Ajisuim arpimd lately.
    Any word on her Phos?
And Tychicus. He came back some time ago and we haven’t seen him around much.

  2. Praises that our internet is back up after 30 hours off. Our guys work hard to restore things. Also the bridge had some work done to it and is in better shape. And the biggest praise is all the new things that appeared in our store yesterday. I was delighted to find pasta, tomatoes and sauce and paste, garbanzoes, salsa, even ziplock sandwich bags. You have no idea how grateful we can be for such simple things. Last week the store was out of even bread and flour.

  3. Heavenly Father,

Thank You for all the provisions You give missionaries on a daily basis and for their ingenuity with limited resources. With You as their creative guide they are able to make much out of little.

Thank You, Father God, for the bridge work where Jo lives and works. May the repairs go smoothly and be made in accordance with safety standards.

I ask special blessings this day for Phos. Help her skill with the language to improve in a supernatural way. May it click in her brain as various pieces of learning come together and gel.

I ask for extra energy for Ajisuun. Please meet all her needs for You know even more than she knows her neefs.

Bless all the people of The Gambia with peace and growing prosperity. May no one feel physical hunger to last long. May they recognize spiritual hunger and find relief to Jesus. I pray in the name of Jesus, Amen

  5. Prayers again for all – just caught up on yesterday’s thread, so prayers from that too. I’m so sorry for your wife and you, MIM.

Please pray for me as I seem to have caught a wicked cold and we’re having company for the next 3 weeks and are trying to get the siding done. Hubby really needs my help out there. I know it’s just a cold, but I feel rather awful. 😦

  6. kare2012: So sorry you’re not feeling well. Prayers for a speedy recovery!

MIM: I lifted you and your wife up in prayer last night. May you feel the loving arms of your heavenly Father wrapped around you during this difficult time.

Prayers requested for my mom. She is having multiple health issues. My BIL is worried it’s cancer and has ordered some tests. Sister and BIL have decided to delay their return to Africa if it is cancer, so they’re hoping to know something soon, as they are scheduled to return August 24. My mom is 76 and has abused her body for years. While I realize everyone must die, my prayer for her is that she won’t have to suffer a lingering, slow, painful demise. She is fiercely independent and it would be very hard on her to have to depend on other people for care. She has said numerous times (including again last night) that she won’t go through chemo or radiation. Thanks!

Also, I’d like to request prayers for Becca. She’s anxious about school starting. She goes back August 26–only 12 days from now! She is afraid she won’t have a friend in her class and everyone else will. I’d so appreciate prayers that she’d make a special friend in her class this year and that she’d get a loving, kind, Christian teacher.

  7. I’m thankful you remind us to pray for Gambia on Wednesdays, AJ. Indeed, sometimes now when I realize its Wednesday–doing normal activities–I recall, “hey, it’s pray for Gambia day, too.”

Of course on Fridays I always remember Chas has gone to the Y . . . 🙂

  10. You’ve got my prayers, Mumsee for The Nest and Karen for Jenn.

This is an early prayer request for tomorrow. First Arrow (oldest son) leaves early tomorrow morning, making a one-hour trip to the home of one BIL of mine, and from there will be riding with said BIL to the home of another BIL, who lives approximately 8 hours away. Requesting prayers for safe travels tomorrow, for the return trip on Monday, and for any extra driving they do in between times.

Same request for Second Arrow, as she leaves here tomorrow, returning to her present home two hours away.

And one more prayer for Fifth Arrow, who has a very difficult time with transitions. Although he probably won’t be awake when First Arrow leaves tomorrow, it might be hard for him when he realizes his big brother is not here. Telling him ahead of time will almost certainly cause problems, but it’s less likely to be problematic if we say nothing beforehand, as his brother is gone a lot, anyway, though he lives at home.

The hardest thing for Fifth Arrow will be having Second Arrow leave tomorrow. She went to visit a friend of hers today, and 5th Arrow was almost inconsolable when she was leaving, thinking she was going back home. It took a lot of convincing that she was only going into town for a short time, and would be back in just a few hours. Tomorrow that will not be the case. Prayers for wisdom for us as we attempt to ease him through that transition as best we can. Thanks.
