Prayer Requests 7-30-13

Who can we pray for today?

Psalm 135:13-21

13 Thy name, O Lord, endureth for ever; and thy memorial, O Lord, throughout all generations.

14 For the Lord will judge his people, and he will repent himself concerning his servants.

15 The idols of the heathen are silver and gold, the work of men’s hands.

16 They have mouths, but they speak not; eyes have they, but they see not;

17 They have ears, but they hear not; neither is there any breath in their mouths.

18 They that make them are like unto them: so is every one that trusteth in them.

19 Bless the Lord, O house of Israel: bless the Lord, O house of Aaron:

20 Bless the Lord, O house of Levi: ye that fear the Lord, bless the Lord.

21 Blessed be the Lord out of Zion, which dwelleth at Jerusalem. Praise ye the Lord.

  1. Finally sat down to pray and here’s this:

Mumsee and Mike who trust in the Lord
    Are like Mount Zion,
Which cannot be moved, but abides forever.

    As the mountains surround Jerusalem,
So the Lord surrounds the Mumsee/Mike family
From this time forth and forever.

For the scepter of wickedness shall not rest
On the land allotted to the Mumsee/Mike family,
Lest the family reach out their hands to iniquity.

Do good, Oh, Lord, to those who are good,
And to those who are upright in their hearts.

As for such as turn aside to their crooked ways,
The Lord shall lead them away
    with the workers of iniquity.

    Peace be upon that household.

    (A paraphrase, Psalm 125)

  2. A hearty Amen! to that.

My friend Jenn, the one with the severe stomach problems (due to one horribly botched surgery followed by several to try to fix things but were unsuccessful) is having a major surgery tomorrow to remove a huge mass growing in her lower abdomen (I think that’s where it is). There will be three surgeons working on her for several hours – basically removing many of her organs to get to the mass – & it is considered risky.

This poor woman has been through so much, physically & emotionally. Please pray for a miracle of healing after the surgery (or even before!). (She is a Christian, but I’m not sure about her husband & newly-grown up kids.)

  4. Heavenly Father,

You are the One Who forms us in the womb and has plans from before we come out of the womb for each of us to fulfill. Long ago You made Mumsee to be a precious daughter and You also made Mike to be a precious son. In Your timing You brought them together to be husband and wife, two believers commited to do good for children who have suffered greatly and in various manners in their lives. Right now the system is trying to put asunder what You have joined together. The system is acting prideful as it is using human judgements that may be flawed and unknowing, or even perhaps unwilling, to utilize all the facts. You know all, Father God! You alone are fully aware of what needs to be done to mend and weave this family back together after this hardship. Please, Lord, come to their help. Move mountains of paperwork, pull away the gummy red tape that tries to adhere in the wrong places and cause havoc. You know exactly the right moves at the right moments to make things fall into place for a good outcome. Thank You for hearing our prayers today. Please give a good and quick resolution so continuing suffering stops. In Jesus’ name, Amen

  5. Prayer for my neighbors please…we just found out the Registered Sex Offender renting the home across the road from our community park was convicted of sexual assault of a 7 yr old little boy in 1990…aggravated assault…which means with a weapon…the homeowners are up in arms, understandably…and there is nothing to be done except to be vigilant, cautious and aware…..I’m on the HOA Board for another four months…I’m hearing a lot of alarm, anger, frustration and angst against the homeowner who has rented their home to this person…

  6. Heavenly Father,

I pray now for Karen O’s friend, Jenn. It is so hard to understand why You allow people to go through such miseries in the physical realm. She has been through more than her share of maladies and bad surgerical outcomes. What dread she must feel based on what she has already been through. And yet she is hopeful, partly because she knows You and also I assume she thinks it can’t get much worse than it already is. So, Lord, I ask that You make a way for her to be repaired. Please help her surgeons to have a special divine leading from Your hand to their hand making things right in her body. I know all things fall under Your will and whatever happens is according to Your best plan. But I also know You listen when Your children pray over other people, especially over other believers. So I lift Jenn up again for Your immeasurable blessing during her surgery and afterward while she is in recovery. May all go well for a complete and thorough repair along with a recouperation which is free from any complications. May she know the love of her family and friends during this additional ordeal and may she be able to look back on it and recognize Your hand completely in charge and overcoming disease. I pray in the name of Jesus’, Amen

  7. I ask for prayer for my cousins, J & J, who have been trying to have a baby for quite a long time and have not yet had a successful outcome. It is so hard on them having to wait and go through procedures…please ask that God would grant them the favor of becoming the parents they so much want to be. Thank you for praying.

I loved Michelle’s prayer based upon the Psalm. It is lovely.

  8. Oh Janice I understand J and J’s pain. I have been there.
There is a chapter in Deuteronomy that is supposed to be good to read over someone in that situation and pray. I think it might be Deut Ch 7/ I will have to look.

  9. Heavenly Father,

I see another prayer request has just been added. Nancy Jill has a very uncomfortable and potentially dangerous situation in her neighborhood. Lord, it is questionable as to why the owners of the house would rent to a person who could possibly do harm to the neighbors. It seems they would have done a background check before the rental. But maybe they were in a desperate situation in needing income from the rent and they looked out for themselves rather than for the neighbors. Lord, You know the whys and the whatfors regarding the owner and if there is any legal recourse for the HOA to pursue in regards to removing the person from the neighborhood. Please show the HOA the approved and legal way to approach this matter if that is what You want done. Otherwise, Lord, I pray You will bless the neighborhood as the neighbors unite as a force for good against evil. I pray for the one who is on the sexual offender list to be accountable to an authority who will be diligent in making sure he complies with requirements to keep all in the community safe. Lord, please keep all the boys and girls, moms and dads, babysitters and others who are responsiblwe for the children safe from any harm related to this offender or any other source of hurt. Thank You for keeping Your angels posted and bringing a sense of Your peace to rest upon the neighborhood. In Jesus’ name, Amen

  10. The visit went very well. She is anxious to get the family back together and acknowledged that there is nothing legal keeping Mike out, but it is in his best interest to let the sheriff do his thing. Which seems to have been nothing so far. Anyway, she is authorizing Mike to be home all day as long as we have a third approved adult on site whenever he is here, until the sheriff is done doing whatever he is doing. That does not mean the sheriff won’t charge Mike with something.

She is also wanting to place another fifteen year old with us for adoption. Obviously she is not too worried. Keep praying and thanks for praying.

Oh, and by the way, she also mentioned that the son who seems to be instigating this whole thing is a potential sociopath. I could see that.

  11. What does an approved adult mean? We approve of Kim, but does your social worker? or the sheriff? Praying for resolution. It does sound encouraging and that she is seeing the truth.

  12. Continuing to pray, Mumsee. I’m so sorry y’all are going through such a difficult time. I respect what y’all are doing with the kids in your care–so many kids need a safe place to grow and heal–and hope it will all be resolved soon. I used to be a social worker before I became a stay-at-home mom and saw much sadness and heartbreak in so many kids’ lives. Glad the visit from the social worker went well and hoping that Mike can return home for good soon.

  13. Heavenly Father,

It is late but that doesn’t matter to You. Thank You for the good news I just read. You are all powerful in Your abilities to bring about good.

I lift up 6 Arrows during this evening for a much needed physical and emotional remedy to what is causing her discomfort and distress. Again, I acknowledge You have the ability to work things for good for Your child, 6 Arrows, who loves You and is called to serve as a homeschool teacher. Bless her with good feelings in the morning. May those good feelings carry forward for many days. If she has any hormonal issues, I pray You will show her Your prescription to bring relief. Please bless her marriage with loving support and understanding.I ask that all their children will act according to Your will and honor and respect 6 Arrows and her husband all the days of their lived. Thank You for letting us all know, care for and love with the love of Christ our sister, 6 Arrows. In Jesus’ name, Amen
