Who has a request or praise to share?
And it Wednesday, so don’t forget Gambia. 🙂
Psalm 127
1 Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.
2 It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep.
3 Lo, children are a heritage of the Lord: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.
4 As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth.
5 Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate.
Had a good first day of school. As I think back I realize that I felt sick at the beginning of the day, but got stronger. Thanks for praying. Learned so much about this class today and met some parents. My aide, Wendy, whose mom died is still not back. Missing her an praying that she is okay.

hmmm… verse 3 says He giveth His beloved sleep. I always thought it meant He gives to us even in our sleep. And I have gone to sleep praying over troubles to have the Lord give me the answer as I awake.
And, yes, I feel blessed by my children and grandchildren.

I kidded with our Pastor because this was our Psalm reading the Sunday that Daylight Saving started this spring. I asked him if he intentionally picked it for the Sunday when we lost an hour of sleep.

Jo: Congratulations on a good first day!
Prayers requested for safe travels today as I’ll be making about a four hour drive to San Antonio. I’ll be traveling between 11:00 and 3:00 CST. Also, please pray that my sister and I would make some great memories during our visit. I need them to tide me over when she returns to Africa.

Prayers requested for a dear friend of mine. She has been divorced for nine years and has an 11 year old daughter. Her ex-husband is a drug addict and hasn’t paid child support in years, nor has he even seen his daughter in more than a year, even though he lives within five miles of them. She is a teacher, so money is always tight. She longs to be married, but keeps meeting guys who aren’t interested in marriage. Her daughter longs for a father-figure and frequently asks her if she’s ever going to get married again. Please pray God would provide a good husband for her.

Did you explain red flags and rip tides?
Red flags mean DO NOT GO IN THE WATER at all end of story. Don’t even dip your toes.
Rip tides? Don’t fight them, they will eventually spit you back on shore, but just to be safe see rule #1

Going into the water with red flags is like wading out to look over the falls. “I won’t get too close.” It has already happened here.

The friend’s older sister and brother-in-law are experienced swimmers and they promised they would be close. They will probably spend most of their time in the hotel pool. And, yes, we did talk about red flags and rip tides. He’s been in the ocean before, just not without me or Daddy.

I’m sometimes amazed that I survived swimming in the ocean when I was growing up. 😉
