Who has a request or praise to share today?
Psalm 105:1-7
1 O give thanks unto the Lord; call upon his name: make known his deeds among the people.
2 Sing unto him, sing psalms unto him: talk ye of all his wondrous works.
3 Glory ye in his holy name: let the heart of them rejoice that seek the Lord.
4 Seek the Lord, and his strength: seek his face evermore.
5 Remember his marvellous works that he hath done; his wonders, and the judgments of his mouth;
6 O ye seed of Abraham his servant, ye children of Jacob his chosen.
7 He is the Lord our God: his judgments are in all the earth.
We are looking into the idea of sending one of our fifteen soon to be sixteen year olds to Idaho Youth Challenge Academy for five months. It is not for druggies or felons, just drop outs and that is where he is. He is quickly changing his outlook from anticipating going to prison to anticipating a real life. But part of getting him there would be developing his academics. He has not been inclined to work with me or with the tutor and we know public school is a no go for him. This would be a military type school with very strict discipline. He is okay with that, just struggling with parts of academics. He is very excited to give it a shot as he thinks it will help him learn to study among other things. Prayer that if this is the right thing for him, he will be accepted and give it his best shot. Good child, just needs some foundational work. Thanks.

I’ll remember him, Mumsee.

I hope my “You’re welcome” didn’t come across as flippant or inappropriate.

Not at all, Karen, I appreciated it for the truth behind it. It is good to have folks praying.

Prayers appreciated for me for stamina, endurance, stick-to-it-iveness, whatever you want to call it as I tackle a big household project that is long overdue. Also for the power to resist jumping on the computer while I’m working (it’s a desktop computer and is in the room that needs the work). The project is not a matter of a few hours or even days, and I’ve got my kids to teach, too. I seriously need to step away from everything but email for a considerable length of time so that I can get important things accomplished. This is hard for me, but I know it’s necessary. Thanks much.

Pray that my dog Tess is ok — I had a worrisome voice mail from my vet today saying she’d tested positive for heart worm, which I just can’t figure out.
I’ve had both dogs on the monthly heart worm prevention medication for years (pretty much ever since I’ve had them) and heart worm is really quite rare in LA county. The chances of her getting it would be so miniscule, I’d think. So I’m really baffled (and worried).
I’ll call him Friday to talk about it, he did say it could be a “false positive” test but that she needs to be re-tested to confirm.

6 arrows, I think I’m probably facing one of those projects, too.

Donna, praying that that is just a false positive test for Tess. Praying for your peace of mind, too, as you await more results.
I’m thinking, also, that I should really keep up with the prayer thread in the weeks ahead as I work on my project…
