Who can we pray for today?
Psalm 86:1-7
1 Bow down thine ear, O Lord, hear me: for I am poor and needy.
2 Preserve my soul; for I am holy: O thou my God, save thy servant that trusteth in thee.
3 Be merciful unto me, O Lord: for I cry unto thee daily.
4 Rejoice the soul of thy servant: for unto thee, O Lord, do I lift up my soul.
5 For thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive; and plenteous in mercy unto all them that call upon thee.
6 Give ear, O Lord, unto my prayer; and attend to the voice of my supplications.
7 In the day of my trouble I will call upon thee: for thou wilt answer me.
Please pray for the son of the minister who married us. Yesterday he and his son power washed our house. Today the son is in the ER. He is having headaches, running, fever, and passing our. The doctor just told them his heart stopped for 10 seconds.

My family could use prayer. My sister’s husband died of a heart attack this morning. He was 46, and their kids are five to fourteen. We got to spend two days with them a couple of months ago, which is a blessing now, because otherwise we’d have only “my husband met her husband,” but as it turns out they spent several hours together. I’m rather numb.
All those years she was married and I was not, and we “overlapped” by 19 months. They had 17 years.

Heavenly Father,
Thank You for a lovely weekend. The weather was alternating between sun and rain. You gave a punctuation mark of a rainbow. Thank You for the many ways we see You demonstrate Your power and control.
I lift up Cheryl’s family during this time of unexpected death of her BIL. Please especially show Your presence in a comforting manner to her sister and the children in the family. No one was prepared for this. Help them all with their shock. Ease them into acceptance of their new reality. Help them to not feel bitter about their loss. May family and friends rally around them to help meet their needs not only for the immediate future but for all the days of the children’s growing up.
Lord, I also lift up the young man mentioned by Kim. He is in a serious condition and needs something that only You know. Please provide knowledge to the physicians so they can help him through this crisis. Help his family to cope with the unknown. I pray for his survival from whatever ails him. Thank You for Your healing touch if it is Your will to heal him.
Please bless each person here on this site with a really good Sunday church service where the word will be preached clearly and in an applicable way. Enrich and enable through the treasure of Your word which is more valuable than silver and gold. Thank You for Your Holy Spirit taking the lead to draw unsaved loved ones to You. I pray in the name of Jesus, Amen

My pastor’s oldest son, 18, was admitted to the hospital a few nights ago with chest pain that was diagnosed as a pneumothorax (via Wikipedia, “an abnormal collection of air or gas in the pleural space that separates the lung from the chest wall and which may interfere with normal breathing”). This could have led to a collapsed lung, but he was back home later the next day, feeling much better.
He seems to be back to normal now, praise God!

This is kind of a tentative prayer request. Heidi has been staying close to me, like sitting between my feet as I sit here at my desk. She usually only does this if she’s been scared by fireworks or loud thunder. We may have a thunderstorm on it’s way in a bit, but so far there’s been no sign of it.
I know sometimes dogs sense things, so I’m praying a general prayer of safety for my family, the family upstairs, & our home.
(Speaking of the family upstairs, if you could throw in a prayer that they’d find another nice home very soon, that would be great. There are a couple situations down here that are getting difficult – though not in an inter-personal way. The girls & Forrest being able to move upstairs soon would go a long way towards solving those problems.)

The young man in my prayer request turned out to be severly dehydrated. I don’t know what happened but that is much better than any other diagnosis could have been.
