Prayer Requests 4-29-13

Who has a request or praise to share today?

Psalm 18:1-6

1 I will love thee, O Lord, my strength.

2 The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.

3 I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies.

4 The sorrows of death compassed me, and the floods of ungodly men made me afraid.

5 The sorrows of hell compassed me about: the snares of death prevented me.

6 In my distress I called upon the Lord, and cried unto my God: he heard my voice out of his temple, and my cry came before him, even into his ears.

  1. Thank you to those of you who prayed for the fire situation in our former home town. Lots of mop up to do, with hot spots and flareups which could last for days (manure smoulders for a long time). No one seriously hurt, no buildings lost, just spring pasture forage and one rancher’s huge hay stack.

  2. First 6 arrows’ arrow gets mono, now my son has it. He’s currently in emerg awaiting doctor’s instructions.

  3. Thanks for your continued prayers for my daughter, Kare. We went to visit her on Saturday, and she looked quite a bit better than she did six days earlier when she was in the hospital. 😉 She is tired, of course, but it appears the fatigue is not too bad; she’s not lying around sleeping all the time like some with mono do.

She was going to take off two weeks from work and school (last week and this week), but she was getting so far behind with school that she decided to go back to school this week. She got her assignments online last week, but there was a lot she missed by not attending lectures, and of course she was missing her labs. So it was hard to do her homework having missed all that. Plus she still has to make up at least one big test and some other things from the four days that she missed a few weeks ago when she had bronchitis and (I didn’t know this until Saturday) pneumonia too. 😦 Also, she’s got finals coming up the week of May 13, so she really felt she needed to get the old business taken care of before that.

One of her instructors has very graciously told my daughter that she will give her an incomplete in her class and allow her to finish the work this summer for a grade. She is carrying 17 credits currently and will only have 8 this summer, so it will be much easier to add that to her summer schedule than to try to get it all finished up now.

I texted her today to see how it went going back to school today, and she said, “Not bad.” So that’s good. 🙂

Thanks again for praying. My hope is that returning to school this week will not be too tiring for her, and that adding work back into the equation one week from today will not be too much.

Any word on the doctor’s instructions for your son, Kare?
