  1. 😦 This laptop must have updated and restarted 30 minutes last night and this morning. no kidding.
    It restarted twice this morning.
    😦 And passwords.
The only thing I really want to protect is my bank access.
And I don”t check my bank account on wi-fi anyhow.
I haven’t seen any difference in the way my computer operates.

  2. 😦 Odd occurrence this week. Someone stole the Kid’s bicycle. It was apparently taken out of the front yard. He was rather upset about it because he had saved up and bought it himself. A couple of days later he comes back from playing with friends and says he found it. “Where?”, I asked. He then told me that the new kid’s big brother had stolen it and the younger brother gave it back. We will be locking things up when we’re gone now and I told the little brother a little white lie when he asked me if our dogs bites. I told him not when she’s with me, but she probably wouldn’t let anyone on our porch. We leave her on the front porch when we leave the house.

  3. 🙂 A great visit with my bro and sis-in-law yesterday.

🙂 A car that both families have been able to use as they need it–I resold him the car his late wife drove and loved; he now needs it back for his stepson, and I’ve driven it less than a thousand miles in the last year, so obviously I don’t really need it anymore.

🙂 I made them the family curry recipe, which he hasn’t had for several years (and his new wife has never had), and he really enjoyed getting it again. And now his wife has the recipe.

🙂 Misten thought she’d died and gone to heaven. This brother made it into her “three favorite people” list when she was a puppy (I am not including myself in those three), and she evidently still thinks he belongs in that list. (I wasn’t sure she would now that she has her own man, and she hasn’t seen my brother in about two years. But she obviously remembered her and hasn’t lost any of her adoration, though she’s a little calmer and much more obedient than when she was a puppy.)

    🙂 A truly wonderful Maundy Thursday service–Lev. 16 and Hebrews 9.

🙂 Hints of spring, including purple crocuses up and the goldfinches back in their yellow spring jackets.

  6. 🙂 Sunday’s coming.

🙂 Mumsee sees the the light.

🙂 A little bit of sunshine today, but it’s supposed to be generally overcast and in the low 60s through Easter.

🙂 I have awesome dogs. 🙂 And a weird cat.

🙂 Returned bikes. I had mine stolen as a kid once, too, I was crushed. They found the kid who did it but he didn’t have the bike anymore. Seems like I had to wait quite a while until my folks could get me another one (used, I’m pretty sure, but I was thrilled; and it probably seemed like a longer wait than it actually was back then; we rode our bikes everywhere and not having one was hard).

🙂 Finished a project story that ran this week on a man who researched students from ucla who never came home from WWII.

  7. 😦 North Korea (what’s up with the people with bad haircuts and such poofed-up military hats?); ‘marriage’/political irrationality (including the weird vilification of Dr. Ben Carson); Jim (never was funny) Carrey’s bizarre public meltdown (OK, so that’s been kind of funny) …

… Is it just me, or do the wheels seem to be coming off all around us lately?

  8. 🙂 But on the bright side, I paid $3.99 a gallon for regular gas the other day.

And, yes, out here that is a rave and not a rant, believe it or not.

First time gas prices have dipped below $4.00 in months.

  9. 😦 Not hearing good things about these new Kids. According to the Kid and another friend they not only steal but smoke pot. It is a family of four boys between the ages of 9 and 19. I’ve told the Kid to stay away from them but Children in this neighborhood often play in one big group, so staying away from them would mean staying in the house all the time.

  10. You absolutely do not want your son playing with those boys unless under your direct supervision. He will not listen to “don’t smoke pot” or “don’t steal” if they are doing it in front of him.

  11. When he was so upset about his bike being stolen I told him to remember that feeling if he was ever tempted to steal from someone else.
