Who would like to share a prayer request or a praise?
Matthew 27:57-66
57 When the even was come, there came a rich man of Arimathaea, named Joseph, who also himself was Jesus’ disciple:
58 He went to Pilate, and begged the body of Jesus. Then Pilate commanded the body to be delivered.
59 And when Joseph had taken the body, he wrapped it in a clean linen cloth,
60 And laid it in his own new tomb, which he had hewn out in the rock: and he rolled a great stone to the door of the sepulchre, and departed.
61 And there was Mary Magdalene, and the other Mary, sitting over against the sepulchre.
62 Now the next day, that followed the day of the preparation, the chief priests and Pharisees came together unto Pilate,
63 Saying, Sir, we remember that that deceiver said, while he was yet alive, After three days I will rise again.
64 Command therefore that the sepulchre be made sure until the third day, lest his disciples come by night, and steal him away, and say unto the people, He is risen from the dead: so the last error shall be worse than the first.
65 Pilate said unto them, Ye have a watch: go your way, make it as sure as ye can.
66 So they went, and made the sepulchre sure, sealing the stone, and setting a watch.
Our precious friend H is 31 years old and has been preparing for the mission field for ten years. She’s a Bible graduate of Multnomah who has been biding her time, waiting for the green light to go to Italy–which has been a burden on her heart all this time.
She leaves in one week. Her farewell party is here in about nine hours. Up until yesterday she thought she was going to a seminary in Sicily to do “anything,” to help them teach the Protestant pastors how to teach the Bible.
Along the way, she got taken under the wing of a missionary group (whose former president is a long time friend of ours, so we know it’s bona fide) who has a military wife in Sicily working with the ministry while her husband is stationed there.
H’s dealing with the Italian seminary have been frustrating, but she has forged ahead, committed to going, getting people to pray and trusting God is at work here.
The missionary organization felt it was in H’s best interests to have a letter of intent from the seminary, so they would be responsible for her. When the seminary seemed to balk, the missionary organization decided to make her an intern so the missionary organization (which is American, BTW), could provide some sort of spiritual and adminstrative support for her. They just asked the seminary to sign a letter of agreement.
The seminary said no. She’s no longer welcome. So, she won’t be working there.
The missionary organization is taking her, then, as an intern in Sicily for the three months she is able to stay in Italy. Her attempts to get a one-year visa have fizzled, over and over again.
She’s struggling. What could all this mean?
Could you pray for her today? The Lord will tell you how and why. Thanks.

Thanks, Kare. Pretty good and quiet. One of the women has already called and I reminded her that if she wanted things like food, it would behoove her to not spend her money on other things. I told her to get her mind off of her neighbors and focus on doing something for her husband, like clean the house. She will try, as she always does but it is tough to be addicted to so many things for so long. I talked with the older children about the need to lock things up for now. Meth users do tend to look for money sources in the oddest places.
Husband’s knee is doing better.
