Prayer Requests 3-14-13

Who can we pray for today?

Or share a praise or an update. 🙂

Psalm 57:9-11

9 I will praise thee, O Lord, among the people: I will sing unto thee among the nations.

10 For thy mercy is great unto the heavens, and thy truth unto the clouds.

11 Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens: let thy glory be above all the earth.

  1. Prayer requested for myself. I’m in a funk this morning. Mom got really drunk last night and was rude to Sandra. It was very tense and embarrassing … We are leaving today at 11:00. I don’t know why I keep coming here. I feel like I’m 14 again. I could burst into tears it hurts so badly. I hate alcohol.

  2. Ann, so sorry. Praying for you. My mom grew up the daughter of an alcoholic, and she has hardly ever spoken of it. I can’t imagine the pain of watching someone you love abuse alcohol.

Prayers for your safe travels home today, too.

  3. Thanks, 6 Arrows. I’m having a really hard time this morning. I’m overwhelmed by sadness. I’d like to curl into a ball and just cry, but I’ve got kids to take care of and need to leave by 11:00 to get back for Lindsey’s riding lesson. Your prayers are greatly appreciated.

  4. Praying for you this morning Ann…and praying for your Mom…oh that she would be set free and find healing in our Lord Jesus….safe travels home for you and yours and comfort in the knowing that He watches over you…always

This situation with our HOA is not getting better…two sides of the chicken ownership issue are poised to sue the HOA Board no matter how we vote on the variance…we’re toast….oh that the Lord will bring peace in the community

On a much brighter note…praises to our Lord for the meeting we had with our “dog barking” neighbors last night. Our neighbors were warm, amiable, and appreciative…and the dogs took to us right away….good things are beginning to happen…we are so thankful!

  5. Praying, Ann, that must be so hard. 😦

nancyjill, glad to hear that the “barking neighbors” issue is showing promise of being resolved. 🙂

Waiting to hear how the reattached finger surgery went from the prayer requests yesterday. Any update from dad?

  6. Donna, update on finger: They re-attached it on Tuesday night. Dressings are to stay on until Friday at the followup appt. They will decide at that time if it is “taking” or not. If not, surgery for Tuesday. Sorry if I was incoherent yesterday, I had been about 36 hours without sleep. The trip home from the hospital was not nearly as quick as the trip up.

  7. Please pray for a co-worker of my husband’s who was in a car accident yesterday on his way home from work. He fell asleep behind the wheel about one mile from his home and crashed into the back of a garbage truck. His injuries, as far as I know, are airbag-related.

  8. Thank you to all who have prayed for me today. We just arrived home (aahh…it’s wonderful to be home!). I am still not in the best mood, but I am feeling much better than I did this morning. I am so glad to have this thread to reach out to other believers. Thanks, A.J.!

    Mumsee: Praying for the Nest.

    RKessler65: Praying about the finger.

6 arrows: Prayers said for your husband’s coworker. Were the injuries severe?

  9. Ann, I’m not sure how severe his injuries are. My husband didn’t hear a lot of details, and the one who had the accident wasn’t at work last night (he had had the accident yesterday morning on his way home from the night shift Tuesday into Wednesday). My husband was saying to my son how it would have been a lot worse if he had crashed into a vehicle like a dump truck or something (higher off the ground), or if he’d gone through the windshield, of course.

I think with airbag injuries, a lot would depend on one’s physical build. I know airbags can be dangerous for those with a very slight build. I don’t know how big hubby’s coworker is, but he is young; eighteen, I think. They’ll probably find out more tonight, if his coworker is there or not.

  10. Ann, my husband just called home from work (he calls every night), and I asked him about his coworker that was in the accident. The guy is back at work tonight, rather stiff and sore, but he doesn’t look any different, hubby says, so apparently the injuries weren’t major. Thanks for your prayers.

  11. Thanks for the update, 6arrows. That is good news, indeed! God is so wonderful!

I am much better. After we got the little one to bed, my husband listened to me and gave me his love and support. And, a dear friend prayed with me on the phone.
