Prayer Requests 2-18-13

Who can we pray for today?

And as always, praises are welcome too. 🙂

Psalm 127

1 Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.

2 It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep.

3 Lo, children are an heritage of the Lord: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.

4 As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth.

5 Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate.

  1. Well, if you have nothing more pressing to pray for, we always welcome prayer here. The gangsta wannabe, who is fifteen and around second to fourth grade, has decided he wants to go to college. When he arrived here less than a year ago, his aspirations were prison and more prison. Now he is interested in politics and history. I told him he needs to either start getting to work on GED or a diploma and there is not much time for that. He is capable of doing the work but, as in the case of most if not all children in foster care, he has been unable to do school work. It takes a while to get comfortable enough to focus and he needs to move along now. He is working on Algebra and Physics so we know he can, he just has to get his emotions in order, and that takes time or God’s early intervention.

  2. Mumsee, if he applies himself, a fifteen year old can catch up quickly.
If he wants to go to college, there is no reason he can’t be ready in five years.
As I said before, the Air Force was the key for me.

  3. No, but Sam is doing extremely well. He has a strong desire to know God, but he is also of the world and we watch the battle. The Lord appears to be winning. He has gone from flunking fifth grade to a B average in tenth grade in two years. He has the desire to get it done and become a SEAL. He is very physically agile and loves square dancing and karate and everything else. He is quite mentally agile as well and can figure out things quickly, like how to set up an electric fence that works. He has many and deep questions about the Word and he is quite attuned to the answers. Prayer that he will continue to hunger for God and desire to serve Him with his many gifts.

  4. Our son is doing better. I’m not sure why or if it will last. I have been sick for the last couple of days and haven’t had the energy to keep him away from the TV as much as I’d like. I hope this won’t cause a set back.
