Life Matters 1-22-13

40 years ago today the Supreme Court made a poor decision that would have devastating consequences on women, children, and our country. That decision, Roe v Wade, continues to be a black stain on the conscience of the nation. It has taken nearly 56,000,000 lives to date, and sadly will continue to take more daily. Some of the supporters of this horror hold the highest positions of power in our govt., in many cases their campaigns were financed with the money made on the killing of innocents. Today is a sad day indeed. I love this country, but I’m shamed but what it’s becoming. I also fear the reckoning we will face for this when God finally says “Enough”.

From LifeNews

“Did you hear? Planned Parenthood has decided that they won’t use the phrase “pro-choice” anymore. With support for abortion at an all-time low (41%) they took a poll. After using a term that has been intentionally misleading for decades, now they say it is “confusing.”

After a 40 year experiment on women, we are not confused.

All people are equal. All choices are not. Abortion is a bad choice for women–sometimes deadly for women, and almost always for their children. Women who have suffered abortions increasingly tell us that they regret their abortion, and that it hurt them in many ways.

Forty years after the Supreme Court decided Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton on January 22, 1973, we remember 56 million missing American children and hundreds of women, perhaps thousands, who have paid the ultimate price.”

Open Letter to Obama on Inauguration Day: Why I Can’t Clap For You

“Many Americans are praying for you as you are inaugurated today. I am among them, as I participate today in the national commemorative service for the birthday of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and join his family at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta.

Yet when wild applause erupts today for you here today, I will not be applauding. When standing ovations occur, I will stand to honor my country and the office of its President, but I will not be applauding, because, I do not believe that you should be the current occupant of the White House.

When you were first elected, many rejoiced that yet another barrier had been broken for racial equality in our nation. I rejoiced with them. Yet so many African-Americans could have been — and can still be — elected to the Presidency who better represent and advance the principles on which our country was founded.

Instead, you so often violate them. Therefore along with the chorus of praise, I want to write this letter today representing so many of our fellow Americans who raise a chorus of concern, particularly regarding your stand on life, religious freedom, and marriage.”

We heard repeatedly last week about how letters to the President made an impression, and drove him to act to save the children. Too bad he didn’t get the same feelings from these letter writers.

Also from LifeNews

“I’m getting sick and tired of the Obama administration using children selectively in order to help the president advocate his public policy positions. As I sat and watched his recent press conference, I finally understood his opposition to the Iraq War. It seems he and the late President Hussein are kindred spirits who share more than just a name. They share a sick penchant for using children as human shields in the middle of war. And make no mistake about it; America is currently at war with itself on many different fronts. As I sat and watched Obama surrounded by little human political shields, three things struck me as being especially hypocritical:

“But it got worse as the day went on. ABC News and other outlets began circulating letters written to Obama by children wishing to weigh in on current public policy debates. That’s normal, of course. Children always weigh in on public policy debates without being prodded by liberal parents who never left childhood themselves. And everyone knows it makes sense to base public policy decisions on the recommendations of children.

What people do not realize is that the practice of children voluntarily writing the White House is so common that the Obama Administration is having difficulty keeping the content of some of these letters from the press. Fortunately, I have a mole in the White House who has sent me some of these previously hidden letters – all of which were mailed by school children to Obama. In fairness, we are forbidden to assume that any of the following letters were written under duress from right wing parents or school teachers:”

Gov. Cuomo of NY did the same thing. He stood there at the signing of strict new gun laws and told everyone it was for the children. But I guess some children just aren’t as equal as others.

From HotAir

“Are there such people as pro-life Democrats? We had a few in Congress a few years back, as I recall, but then they voted for the ObamaCare bill without language that permanently protected taxpayers from funding abortions.  Nevertheless, there still seem to be a significant number of Democratic voters who remain pro-life, even if there doesn’t seem to be many Democratic politicians.  One group in New York, Democrats for Life of America, is outraged over a new abortion-expansion proposal from Governor Andrew Cuomo in what is already arguably the abortion capital of the nation, which would eliminate parental notification requirements and allow non-doctors to perform abortions:

By promoting one of the most expansive abortion bills in American history, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo has opened a civil war on two fronts: with his church and with elements of his own party.

Cuomo is pushing for a massive expansion of access to abortion in the state, including lifting restrictions on third-trimester abortions, allowing non-doctors to perform the procedure, and enshrining a fundamental right to “terminate a pregnancy” in New York state law.

Democrats for Life of America deemed the proposed bill “the most sweeping abortion legislation in the nation.”

Children are a blessing. It’s time we treated them as such. Not as props, or something to easily discard if you don’t want it, but as a gift. It’s time for our leaders to step up and lead by example. Sadly, I doubt our current ones have the decency to do so. After all, they benefit from the continued bloodshed. That needs to stop.

  1. Socialism and communism have many thing in common, they try to separate the classes into two groups the rich and ever one else. They promote the idea that the rich is evil and that the Government must take from the rich and give to the poor. Equality cannot come about without Government intervention or control. These ideas motivate the poor, unions and other people on the left because they are trained to believe that their problems and the world problems are because of the rich and that only the Government can deliver them and provide for them. Throughout Mr. Obama speech, you see these ideas presented.

  2. When your worldview is only through a political lens, children, women, families, fathers, are simply tools of expediency. You use them as you need them, and then discard–they serve their purpose and their humanity becomes unimportant.

Woe to those of us who do the same.

There are people involved in every step of the abortion process:

*physicians who think the best solution to a problem is to kill someone.

*desperate women who can’t see the big picture–that this child may be the only one they ever conceive and this one child may become the richness of a life they cannot comprehend in their fear.

*men who don’t realize that fathering a child is a step to responsibility that can bring far more joy that work.

*politicians who selfishly believe people are tools to be exploited.

I used to meet with a small group of women at 6 am on Fridays to pray about the abortion issue in our town and for our local PCC. We always ended up praying for those who performed abortions and their fellow workers. Can you imagine the nightmares that must come with such a job?

The forces are scrambling because the tide is turning–physicians don’t want to be abortionists; the average age is climbing and the majority of doctors who perform them are starting to retire. Coumo’s push to have non-medical people perform abotions is a reaction to that.

    We need to keep praying.
