What should we pray about today?
Psalm 18:30-32
30 As for God, his way is perfect:
The Lord’s word is flawless;
he shields all who take refuge in him.
31 For who is God besides the Lord?
And who is the Rock except our God?
32 It is God who arms me with strength
and keeps my way secure.
Please pray for me as I prepare and preach from Jonah chapters 3 & 4 tomorrow. Thanks.

I got this in late last night thought I’d repost.
We took my mother to the hospital last night. She was having dizzy spells. They have already determined that she is losing blood somewhere. She will be there a few days while they figure out what’s up.
Nephew’s Crohn’s disease is acting up again. Praying he will not need surgery again. I’m not saying I have a favorite. All my nieces and nephews are good folks but this nephew is one of the sweetest, humblest guys I know and it seems everything works against him. The heath problems have him a little depressed and discouraged. His wife is great and supportive but they have a little 17 month old who had also had heath problems.
The Kid and I both have Doctor’s appointments next week for things that are probably not serious.

Baby Aubree will have an MRI on Friday. Please pray for the mom, Jill, who is having the hardest time. Aubree has a delightful three year old sister, but Mom had a lot of health issues with childbearing, which I think sometimes makes the children even more precious than they already are. Get it?

Michelle – I thought I understood until the “Get it?” Is there something you’re alluding to that I may have missed, or simply saying that the children are so very precious because they were difficult to give birth to, worth the pain?

Please lift up my Chrissy in prayer. I fear that her faith in Jesus, & belief in His word, may be slipping (or has slipped), that maybe she’s only coming to church with us to avoid disappointing us. Please pray that God does a wonderful work in her heart & spirit, drawing her closer to Himself.
Thank you.

Karen, keep praying and don’t let up. But don’t nag either. We had that problem with Chuck at a certain point. It seems that at a certain point, association with friends supplants God, parents and anything else.
But it worked out well.
I’ll help you pray about it. Keep the faith. She will likely come around.

Yes, Karen on the latter. There was no real need to go into anguishing detail.

Yes, I ditto what Chas says. Her faith will become stronger when it is actually HER faith. I do keep your family in my prayers, Karen.

Chrissy seemed to have already passed the point of making the faith her own (she’s 20 now). She has said things to me in our conversations (not initiated by me) that indicate that she does indeed believe.
But she also is very strongly into believing in same-sex marriage & that homosexuals are “born that way”. Her best friends (also from a Christian family, but one that hasn’t been involved in a church for several years) believe those things, & have quite an influence on her.
I’m wondering if she is experiencing a tension in her spirit, trying to reconcile those differing beliefs.

Boys have a friend spending the night. A notorious miscreant. Prayers that any mischief will come to light. Better, that no mischief occurs.

Mischief? At Mumsee’s? Where space rockets are being set off in the field?
Hard to imagine any “mischief” being even noticeable …
But yes, prayers.
