Yesterday I received an apology from Marine Middle Son. It was short, “Sorry, I was having a bad day.” Then I got another message from him telling me he knew I had seen his first message. I replied that his apology was accepted. Family always gets a pass. The reason I didn’t respond immediately was because I had had my own personal stepmother over for dinner.
I was impressed with Mr. P last week when all of this happened. Son had also taken a swipe or two at his girlfriend. She called Mr. P. I removed myself to the kitchen while they talked but I did overhear him tell the Girlfriend, “you don’t ever have to take any abuse from a man whether it is verbal or physical or whether it is from my son or any other man.”
How powerful would that be if more women heard that message and more men relayed that message to more women?

Good morning.
I see a need to step away from most of my online activity for a time, to more fully invest in my husband and family. Our marriage has hit a bit of a rough spot, nothing serious, but something on which I want to be proactive. I would appreciate your prayers.
I will continue reading the prayer thread here, praying for the requests I see, and perhaps adding some of my own. So please, if you have a need, put it on the prayer thread where I will see it, and I will be happy to lift you and yours up in prayer. I will also continue to pray for the ongoing needs I know many of you have.
Love and blessings to all of you.

Amen Kim!
6 Arrows, you have my prayers.
Pray for me, I am teaching a Sports Ministry Conference all week. 40 of the participants will be Russian immigrants who have been doing amazing work in immigratnt communities–not just Russian–in CA, TX and MU (What is the two letter abbriviation for Missouri?). Many are coming to Christ in these neighborhoods.

Good Monday morning dear ones….
6arrrows…you are in my prayers…a prayer for us all…to be centered upon Him…and upon our priorities…sometimes that line can become blurred with distractions…blessings
Beautiful Kim…you’ve been blessed with a gem of a guy 🙂
Hope this day proves to be amazing for everyone…

Will be praying, too, 6 Arrows.
MO I think is the 2-letter abbreviation for Missouri. 🙂 Sounds like an exciting week ahead for you, Adios.
So it’s Monday again. 😦
And how late do you think we’ll all be up on Tuesday night? I’m hoping the polls are wrong and a clear winner (hopefully the one I voted for, eh?) emerges by midnight.
But we’ll see.
Wednesday may not be pretty, either way.

The country is so divided, that — whomever wins — we’re going to see some very, very unhappy people. 😦
Honestly, it still amazes me whenever I run across Christians or other “normal” people (i.e. not from the Left-leaning looney lines) deciding to vote for Obama. Really??????

Kim, many white Southerners of my generation originally became Republicans because we wanted conservatism without the racism of the Dixiecrats.

I’ve recieved about 50 calls the last 2 days. I get it, the election is tomorrow.
NOW STOP CALLING ME!
At least I got a break when I took my wife to the eye doctor. And I’ll get another now. I’m going to get 4 new tires for her car. It’s better than sittin’ here with the phone. Plus she’s workin’ from home today ‘cuz the building in NJ is still closed.
But it’s nice she’s home. Or it would be without the phone thing. Next call, I’m leaving it off the hook.

You can’t leave it off the hook, The buzz will get louder and be worse than the calls,
Most of them are robocalls. Answer and hang up.
When I answer the phone and no one says anything in three seconds, I hang up.
Most people will respond as soon as you say hello
In random calls, the person has to look to see who the auto dialer has connected him to.
(Not gunna correct the grammer. SO There)

I have both caller ID and an answering machine. I never answer my phone unless I know who is calling. It saves both time and temper 🙂

I’ve only been coming to read & note prayer requests lately, there seem to be fewer hours in the day of late [even before we went back to standard time]. Will pray for 6 Arrows and Adios.

Answering machine. Those who know us know we are busy and screen our calls. If they start to leave a message and we are home and available, we will pick up. Otherwise we will call back. Then, if they are screening their calls…..Of course, most folk now have caller ID so they know it is us. I do have one friend, a drunk diabetic, who gets the urge to call and calls and hangs up when the machine picks up. And hits redial and hangs up. And hits redial and hangs up. She is convinced that we will eventually pick up. But, as we know she is generally drunk when she starts doing that, we let it go. When she is sober, she leaves a message and we try to call her back while she is still sober.

I bought an answering machine to screen calls, but Mrs L refuses to let it go. She won’t even turn off the ringer. And then last night it happened: 3 calls in 125 minutes!

Oops! That should say 3 calls in 15 minutes. I didn’t realize my finger hit two keys at once.

Just saw this on facebook. Election day is tomorrow. Obama will obviously take an early lead…until the rest of us get off work.

It has taken a great deal of encouragement for Husband to let it go. Even during mealtime. But he has been won over and finds it reduces stress.

AJ, at least you not one us forgotten people in the predictable states. I’ve never been called and I’ve only seen one yard sign and maybe two or three bumper stickers. We did have a rather lively mayoral election.

Caller ID.
My colleagues were shocked — SHOCKED — by the mere suggestion that Obama will not win re-election.
I’m not calling this one, the polls are all too eerily lined up together showing a dead heat tie.
