Prayer Requests 10-30-12

I hope everyone made it thru last night unscathed. No power at my place, they say it could be days.  

😦

And hope everyone continues to pray for those still in the storm’s path.

What else should we pray about today?

Psalm 150

1 Praise the Lord.[a]

Praise God in his sanctuary; praise him in his mighty heavens.

2 Praise him for his acts of power; praise him for his surpassing greatness.

3 Praise him with the sounding of the trumpet, praise him with the harp and lyre,

4 praise him with timbrel and dancing, praise him with the strings and pipe,

5 praise him with the clash of cymbals, praise him with resounding cymbals.

6 Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.

Praise the Lord.

  1. Praise God that He controls the whole deal. Praise Him that many of those to the east came out with minimal damage in what could have been much worse for many more. And pray that He will work through the rescuers and rebuilders as they go out into the damage seeking to find and help.

  2. And pray that God will use this to open the eyes of many. To His salvation as well as to the direction we are taking the country He has blessed us with.

  4. My son’s cold did develop into an asthma problem so he is going as directed by the college nurse to see a doctor to get an inhaler. He has not had a wheeze for a number of years so I hope he will take care of it before it gets more serious.

    Late yesterday I heard that Linda is in ICU and is having dialysis and there has not yet been a waking up so they and we will have to hope and pray there is no brain damage from when her body shut down. I have called the hospital several times today to only be told she is still in ICU.

    My husband, and now a second person in our office, has a cold. Pray I don’t get it, and they get over it without complications, please. I feel a little down because of everything happening around me. All prayers are appreciated.

  6. Heavenly Father,

    We praise You when times are good and also when the times are less than desirable. You are unchanging and always deserving of praise because of Who You are. Our circumstances and those of people we know are always in a state of change and that can get our emotions stirred up. Thank You for being the strong support that we need when we would be tossed to and fro by the wind and waves of life.

    Father God, Abba, I do pray for all those who are at this very moment waiting to be rescued from a situation brought on by the storm. Help them in this time of need. Give them endurance greater than they thought possible. Help those who are trying to keep their young children safe when the children may not understand the dangers of the flood waters or the fallen trees and electical wires. Lord, You know each circumstance and what it requires for lives to be saved. I pray alongside all the others who are praying for life to be sustained and death to be defeated according to Your will. Please quickly restore power through the helping hands of neighbors across this nation who come into devastated areas to assist. Bless those who are fixing meals for those in shelters from the storm. I pray everyone can keep a good spirit as they wait to return home. Please bless those who have suffered in the past similarily to not have symptoms of PTSD as they feel like they are going through it all again. Lord, please hear the prayers of Your children as we cry out for all these people who are hurting now and wondering about their future. Especially with so many out of work, the financial resources are fewer to help than in the past. Make a way for all to be cared for that will bring glory to You, Abba.

    Thank You, Lord, that Mumsee’s children are getting diagnosed so they can know the right approach with each child. Give them insight and resourcefulness in meeting diverse needs. Thank You for the blessing of a nice home for the children where they can blossom according to Your plan for their lives.

    Thank You, Lord, that we can put our trust in You when we have such doubts about the current leadership of our nation. I pray for the election to go forward with fairness. Help us to move forward even in the midst of the devastation of the storm. May our nation be blessed with new leadership in one way (by election) or another (by impeachment, etc.). It seems there are numerous reasons, if the truth be released, that we should have new leadership. You raise them up and have the power to take them down. May Your will be done. We wait on You and Your best for there are those in this land who still love You and call on Your name. In the name of Your blessed Son, Jesus, Amen

  8. It has been determined that Linda is only being kept alive by the machines. An order has been signed to take her off the machines in the next day or two. It is a sad time, but she had been through so much pain. I did not know her very well and do not know if she was a believer. I will hope so.

  9. Heavenly Father, I believe you can reach through even to a soul in a comatose or “brain dead” body. I ask you to speak to Linda’s spirit, Lord, & prepare her to meet You when they “pull the plug”.

    Please bring Janice peace of mind & heart, dear Lord, as she is discouraged about all these problems she sees around her. Lift her spirit & give her joy in the midst of it all. And please protect her from getting this cold that’s going around.

    In the mighty name of Jesus, Amen.

  11. The Kid appears to be sick this morning. His Dr.’s office opens at 8:00. I will call then and see if I need to bring him in. If he is sick he will be disappointed about trick or treating. And I feel like I have an ear infection. I thought is was just my TMJ flaring up but it’s not getting better and it feels like my ear channel is swollen.

  12. I hadn’t thought about this before, but Sawgunner is one of our colleagues from WMB. We haven’g seen him here though I sent him an e-mail with our address.
    Anyhow, Sawgunner’s wife is from Long Island, NY, and she has family there.
