  1. Wow,

I don’t like this argueing type format at all. Constant interuptions, smirks, and rudeness. Biden won’t allow Ryan to finish without commentary from him. Is he 12?, “Cuz he looks old for 12, yet that’s how he’s acting.

  2. They did the red tie/blue tie thing again. Is that on purpose? I think Ryan won but not by as much as I expected. Charles Krauthammer said something like, If you read it on a transcript Ryan won, if you heard it on radio Biden won, if you saw it on TV Ryan won.

  3. Joe Biden’s sneering, arrogant style likely played well to the partisan liberal base. However, the all important undecided voters for the most part would be put off by his consistent bullying tactics.

Ryan clearly won the debate on substance for those interested in the issues. He, also, maintained a certain decency and dignity that is the best way to deal with an arrogant, sneering bully. The young forties guy taught the old late sixties guy how to behave.

Ryan, also, proved himself a more faithful Christian by standing up firmly against abortion. Biden wobbled on the issue.

  4. Biden wobbled on abortion? What? He’s pro-choice, that’s his position and he stuck to it. I think Sails what you may mean is that Romney/Ryan have wobbled with Gov Romney stating he knew of no legislation he would sign and his campaign staff and Ryan saying he would sign new legislation.

To me the debate was a draw. Biden was stronger on foreign policy and Ryan on his domestic points. Biden was aggressive and the laughing was unhelpful. Ryan held his own and really you can’t ask for more than that in the first time on that big a stage.

  5. CB, Biden definitely wobbled: he said he agrees with his church that life begins at conception, but then said that’s a personal thing, and mentioned the woman doing what she likes with her own body.

In other words, it’s OK to kill if you want to, and the life that began at conception is somehow part of his or her mother’s body.

That’s like saying, “My religion teaches that women are valuable, but I won’t ask anyone else to believe that. If you personally like rape, I won’t do anything to stop you, because you can do what you want with your own body.”

  6. CB, as Cheryl says, Biden claims to be a devout pro life Catholic, though he has no problem with Roe v. Wade, a ruling that the Church strongly opposes.

  7. That’s been Biden’s consistent position for years. You all dislike it as it is not the black and white answer you prefer, but it’s not a wobble.

  8. Yeah CB,

He showed his foreign policy expertise alright.

“Syria Is Five Times Bigger Than Libya”

Reality: Libya Is 679,362 Square Miles, Syria Only 71,500…

All one needs to look at is the ME, which is a mess, to see Biden and Obama’s expertise at work. Strong? No. Disaster? Yes.

  9. CB, you continue to miss the point. However long Biden has held the position, it contradicts his wobbly attempt to both claim to be a devout Catholic while opposing one of its fundamental doctrines. Also, a clear, black and white position, if you prefer, is admirable in that it respects the dignity of pre-natal human life.

Reagan regarded Biden as a “smooth but pure demagogue”. How true.”

  10. Sails,

Oh, I see. You take issue with the position and question Biden’s faith.

    Aj,

Population not geographic area as I noted on the other thread. The me is a mess and will continue to be so for a few years no matter who the US president is.
