Continue to pray for Barbara Dunbar, my missionary friend in Japan. Her mom is still bleeding internally and they cannot do an upper GI until this stops. Barbara is on a emotional roller coaster right now. For those Brothers and Sisters here who are Southern Baptist, Barbara is with the Foreign Mission Board.

I am friends with another retired SBC missionary to Japan, Mary, who has been going through rough times with receiving chemo for cancer and having a terrible case of the shingles on top of that. 😦 Please pray for Mary to be in less pain and to feel up to participating at her previous level of leadership in our church. Thanks for your prayers.
Praying Barbara’s mom’s bleeding will come to a stop before she grows any weaker from loss of blood. May the needed testing be able to be done with a diagnosis and prop-er treatment plan. And may Barbara rely fully on the Lord casting all her cares upon Him.

I survived the exhausting trip back to the Gambia. I will brave the ferry on Monday. In the meantime I need to buy two months of supplies. Tomorrow will be a busy day!

Update on Brooklyn: She is awake and eating a little and talking. Upon awakening, she commented, “Look at all my bears!”. People from all over the world have sent bears to this sick little girl as a visual reminder that they are praying for her. Her recovery thus far has been nothing short of miraculous. She still has one surgery ahead of her to further close the incision on her arm. I’ll find out when it is and post the information soon. Thanks for praying!

I’d like to request prayer for safe travels for my oldest daughter. She came home yesterday to celebrate our youngest’s birthday. She is visiting right now at a friend’s who lives a bit out of our area, and tonight will be driving back to the city in which she attends school. She will have a 2-hour drive ahead of her, likely after dark for at least a portion of it, most of which will be on roads unfamiliar to her. We wish it weren’t that way, but that is nevertheless how it looks like it will be. Prayers for her safety as she travels alone would be much appreciated. Thank you.
