Secrets just received this memo from GOP officials:

The Philadelphia GOP is reporting that court appointed Minority (read GOP) Inspectors are being thrown out of polling locations in several Wards.

These Inspectors are election officials – again, court appointed — and are reportedly being thrown out by the Head Judges of Elections (these Judges are elected Democrats) and being replaced by Democrats.”

“A Pennsylvania judge is issuing an order to reinstate Republican election  officials across Philadelphia who allegedly were ejected or refused entry by  on-site Democratic voting chief judges, GOP officials tell Fox News.

One Republican official claimed that “just under 70” Republican election  officials were blocked from Philadelphia polling sites Tuesday morning by  Democrats on site. One of them, the official claimed, “was shoved out of the  polling place.””

From DetroitNews, now THAT is dedication. Coming back from the dead to vote, is usually a bad thing. But not in this case.

“”I was filling out the form as were an elderly couple sitting at a nearby  table,” said Houston on Tuesday. “His wife, who was helping him fill out the  ballot, asked him a couple of questions but he didn’t respond. She screamed for  help and I went over to see what I could do.”

Houston laid the victim on the floor and went to work.

“He was dead,” Houston said. “He had no heartbeat and he wasn’t breathing. I  started CPR, and after a few minutes, he revived and started breathing again. He  knew his name and his wife’s name.”

What happened next astounded Houston and the victim’s wife.

“The first question he asked was ‘Did I vote?'”

Voting machine shenanigans? From CBS

“A video posted on YouTube at a Pennsylvania polling station allegedly shows an electronic voting machine changing a man’s vote from President Barack Obama to Mitt Romney.

The video, published by “centralpavote,” shows the man pushing the Obama tab on the Perry County machine, but highlighting Romney.”

“It’s very difficult to transfer this system as it is to any other country. This system is built according to trust and this trust needs a lot of procedures and a lot of education for other countries to adopt it,” Elabbar said.

The most often noted difference between American elections among the visitors was that in most U.S. states, voters need no identification. Voters can also vote by mail, sometimes online, and there’s often no way to know if one person has voted several times under different names, unlike in some Arab countries, where voters ink their fingers when casting their ballots.”

U.S. Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano said on Sunday federal agencies are looking for apartments and hotel rooms for people displaced by Superstorm Sandy, Reuters reports.”

Rudy says FEMA blew it. Again. From Politico

“Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani slammed FEMA and President Barack  Obama on Monday over the response to super storm Sandy-inflicted damages, saying the emergency agency is  failing as badly to as it did during Katrina.

“The response since the time the president got all this praise and credit and  press ops has been abysmal,” Giuliani said on Fox News Channel’s “America’s  Newsroom.” “FEMA is as much a failure now as at the time of Katrina.””

Obama goes with the “heckuva job Brownie” type response. Also from Politico

“Speaking to a Hollywood, Fla., crowd that local officials estimated at 23,000, Obama trumpeted his response to last week’s hurricane, noting he’s been talking to “governors and mayors every single day” about the recovery effort.”

The Military Postal Service Agency (MPSA) identified problems with the system after the 2010 election, but hasn’t implemented changes.”

Officials announced Saturday that registered voters can vote electronically. A resident must submit a mail-in ballot application by fax or email to the local county clerk.

When the request is received, a ballot will be emailed or faxed back. Ballots must be returned no later than 8 p.m. Tuesday.”

Mayor Bloomberg got a surprise, while making a surprise visit.

“Storm-ravaged and weary Rockaways residents cornered Mayor Bloomberg yesterday to angrily demand more aid for their devastated neighborhood.

“When are we gonna get some help?” blasted one desperate woman, who had to be held back by the mayor’s security detail as Bloomberg stood by with a deer-in-the-headlights look.

“When are we gonna get some (censored) help?” she demanded.

“There’s old ladies in my building that don’t got nothing,” lashed out a man on video caught by a NY1 reporting crew.

Bloomberg’s trip to the Rockaways wasn’t announced and wouldn’t have been caught on cameras if the news crew hadn’t happened to run across him. Back in City Hall, he expressed sympathy with the residents’ plight.”

Meanwhile, the President continues his regulatory assault on the economy, and of course he’s got to hide it.

“Under the Regulatory Flexibility Act, the president is required by law to submit  his regulatory agenda to Congress twice a year, in April and October. The report  is required to include every economically significant regulation in the  pipeline. This year, April came and went and the legally required report wasn’t  filed.”

“Senator Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.) last week politely asked President Obama to follow  the law: “I request you comply with the law and publish the federal government’s  regulatory calendar this month. Businesses and communities need to understand  the future regulatory landscape in order to properly plan and invest in the  economy.””

“The reply? None.”

“We don’t know exactly how big the regulatory bomb is going to be because of  Obama’s illegal secrecy, but an estimate from the National Federation of  Independent Business of some of the known rules clocks in at over $515  billion in economic costs. That estimate doesn’t even include an expected ban on  coal-fired power plants whose costs could run into the trillions.”

The Soro’s funded Center for American Progress is targeting the military again. Given Obama’s fondness for groups like these and their recommendations, and his attacks on TriCare already, this should make military members a little nervous. The DoD will bow to whatever methods Obama proposes.

“The Center for American Progress calls for capping pay raises, eliminating military health benefits for many retirees who are covered by an employer-provided plan, and reducing the value of military retired pay as well as making retirees wait until age 60 to start receiving it.

Recommendations are included in a report, Rebalancing Our National Security, released Oct. 31 by the progressive think tank and advocacy group. The report opposes across-the-board cuts in defense spending that could occur beginning in January under sequestration but still calls for major reductions in defense spending.”

“Similarly, the report endorses many of the Defense Department’s proposals for cutting health care costs by raising fees, mostly on retirees and their families. But the report goes a step further: “To truly restore the Tricare program to stable financial footing, the Defense Department should enact measures to reduce the overutilization of medical services and limit double coverage of working-age military retirees,” the report says.”

But don’t worry, the Redskin Rule says Romney wins!

The  so-called “Redskins Rule” predicts that, if the visiting team  defeats the Redskins in their last home game before Election Day, the incumbent  party will lose the White House. If the Redskins win the game, according to the  legend, the incumbent party will prevail.

The rule has held true since 1940, though it was amended in 2004 to define  the “incumbent party” as the party that won the popular vote in the previous  presidential election.”

“Christie Administration Takes Action to Protect Storm-Impacted New Jersey Homeowners from Higher Insurance Deductibles”

“Taking action to save homeowners money following Hurricane Sandy, Governor Chris Christie signed Executive Order 107, prohibiting insurance companies from imposing costly hurricane deductibles on New Jersey homeowners. An important part of the recovery of New Jersey will be the influx of funds that occurs when insurers settle claims by New Jersey homeowners. This action will increase the total size of the payments made by the insurance industry, helping residents rebuild their homes and speed New Jersey’s path to recovery.

“We need to ensure that homeowners are not forced to pay higher out of pocket costs than required as they begin the rebuilding and repair process,” said Governor Christie. “While Hurricane Sandy was a devastating storm, it did not meet the regulatory threshold to trigger the application of hurricane deductibles by insurance companies in New Jersey. This executive order makes it clear that consumers do not have to pay these unusually large and often unexpected amounts.””

Also this, from CBS. Gas rationing has been ordered.

“Christie ordered odd-even fuel sales to help ease shortages and long gas lines that have occurred since Sandy decimated the coast earlier this week.

Residents with license plates ending in an odd number can make gas purchases on odd-numbered days of the month Residents with plates ending in an even number will be able to buy gas on even-numbered days, the governor said.”

In New York, it’s even worse.

“Staten Island residents are furious. They feel that in the aftermath of Superstorm Sandy they’ve been ignored and left to fend for themselves.”

“You hope that the government does the right thing and steps in and helps us out. We have been looking for FEMA, [but] FEMA has not been here,” Hannula said.”

And it may actually get worse yet. From NBC

“Millions trying to recover from Superstorm Sandy were not getting much cooperation from Mother Nature: Lows this weekend were set to dip into the 30s, an issue for elderly and others without power, while a nor’easter winter storm is possibly on its way.”

“On top of the cold, the National Weather Service’s prediction center, in a Friday update, cited the “potential for a nor’easter along the Atlantic Coast next Wednesday and Thursday.””

Sadly, the death toll in the US from the storm continues to rise.

“The death toll in the United States from Superstorm Sandy rose to 109 victims on Friday, as Pennsylvania reported four additional deaths and New York City reported two more fatalities. Mayor Michael Bloomberg warned: “There could be more fatalities.”

“Two bodies were recovered Friday on Staten Island. The toll in the nation’s largest city is now 41 deaths, according to the governor’s office. However, the New York Police Department had reported 40 deaths in the city.”

“Thousands of people were stranded Sunday as U.S. airlines canceled nearly 8,000 flights through Tuesday ahead of the two storm systems converging on the East Coast.

With Hurricane Sandy looming, airlines suspended operations at airports from Washington up to Boston. Carriers canceled 1,270 flights scheduled for Sunday, according to FlightAware.com, a flight-tracking website. As of Sunday night, airlines also canceled 5,900 flights scheduled for Monday and almost 800 flights Tuesday. FlightAware said it expects airlines to cancel more flights scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday.  Many travelers will have to wait until Wednesday to fly.”

And let’s hope it doesn’t end up being politicized.

I’m a little worried ‘cuz we’re in the heavy rainfall area, and the models seem to suggest it makes landfall 50 miles south. If it comes up the Delaware like Diane in “55, we could have major problems. A State of Emergency has already been called in PA. and NJ, as well as most of the coast.

In other News….. The President refuses to answer an easy question. From ABC

“In an interview with a Denver TV reporter Friday, President Obama twice refused to answer questions as to whether the Americans under siege in Benghazi, Libya on September 11, 2012, were denied requests for help, saying he’s waiting for the results of investigations before making any conclusions about what went wrong.

After being asked about possible denials of requests for aid, and whether it’s fair to tell Americans that what happened is under investigation and won’t be released until after the election, the president said, “the election has nothing to do with four brave Americans getting killed and us wanting to find out exactly what happened. These are folks who served under me who I had sent to some very dangerous places. Nobody wants to find out more what happened than I do.””

And again he failed to answer.

“A federal appeals court declined on Thursday to reconsider a ruling that would allow Texas to withhold funding for women’s healthcare from Planned Parenthood’s clinics because the organization also performs abortions.

Texas Governor Rick Perry said after the order by the Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit in New Orleans that the state would immediately stop paying program participants that are affiliates of abortion providers.

“Today’s ruling affirms yet again that in Texas the Women’s Health Program has no obligation to fund Planned Parenthood and other organizations that perform or promote abortion,” the Republican governor said in a statement. “In Texas we choose life, and we will immediately begin defunding all abortion affiliates to honor and uphold that choice.”

“The Arlington County Commonwealth Attorney’s Office and the Arlington County Police Department have been made aware of a video released yesterday allegedly depicting Patrick Moran, former Director of Field Operations for the Jim Moran for Congress campaign organization, assisting another to vote illegally,” the city announced today.

“The Arlington County Police Department has initiated a criminal investigation of this matter.””

“Texas authorities have threatened to arrest international election observers, prompting a furious response from the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE).

“The threat of criminal sanctions against [international] observers is unacceptable,” Janez Lenarčič, the Director of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR), said in a statement. “The United States, like all countries in the OSCE, has an obligation to invite ODIHR observers to observe its elections.””

“State Department spokeswoman Victoria Nuland sought to tone down the controversy during her briefing Thursday. The department is eager to avoid giving the impression that the United States is unwilling to submit to the same scrutiny it demands of others when it comes to human and civil rights.”
