Our Daily Thread 9-6-12

Good morning!

This is the daily thread. What would you like to talk about?

Quote of the day

“The highest gift and favor of God is a pious, kind, godly, and domestic wife, with whom thou mayest live peaceably, and to whom thou mayest intrust all thy possessions, yea, thy body and thy life.”

Martin Luther

Our Daily Thread 9-4-12

Good Morning!

As you can see from the new title, we have our poll winner. This is the daily thread, talk about whatever you like.

Quote of the day

“A good character is the best tombstone. Those who loved you and were helped by you will remember you when forget-me-nots have withered. Carve your name on hearts, not on marble.”

Charles Spurgeon

Labor Day Holiday 9-3-12

Good morning. Today, as you’re already aware I’m sure, is Labor Day. If you have the day off, enjoy it. If you don’t have the day off, I wish you did. 🙂

You can use this as the Daily Thread, or continue the conversation on yesterdays thread. Have a great holiday!

Summer is coming to an end. Where has the time gone? The older I get, the faster the days seem to move. Am I the only one who’s noticed this?

Good Morning! 9-2-12

Good afternoon. I realized this morning that we hadn’t decided on a Sunday Open Thread, so I thought I would go ahead and post one. It’s late, but today we had church as I’m sure most of you did/do as well. I’m blessed to have a great church in which to worship and praise God in.  I spoke with someone this morning about being a part of something I’m planning. I’m really excited. I’ll post more about it later this week, and what to expect. I can’t wait!

Have a great day!

Quote of the Day

“I hope I shall possess firmness and virtue enough to maintain what I consider the most enviable of all titles, the character of an honest man.”
George Washington

Good Morning! 9-1-12

This is our Daily Open Thread. Talk about whatever you like.

How can it be September already?

The Quote of the Day is from Billy Graham

“The highest form of worship is the worship of unselfish Christian service. The greatest form of praise is the sound of consecrated feet seeking out the lost and helpless”

Good Morning! 8-31-12

Look for the poll later tonight to vote on the name of this, the Daily thread. If you have a suggestion there’s still time to get it in. I will be out this afternoon with my lovely wife and daughter at the Great Allentown Fair. A little pre-holiday fun before school starts. Enjoy yourselves, and have a great day.

Quote of the day, from C. S. Lewis.
“Aim at heaven and you will get earth thrown in. Aim at earth and you get neither.”
