I received a late night text from my friend’s husband. She had aspirated food into her lungs and she is expected to not make it by weeks end. I am rather numb and teary. I haven’t seen her since her lashing out at me a year ago but do get updates. This is not how I would hope to see anyone end their journey here on earth. Parkinson’s and dementia have taken her earthly body but my continual prayer over her has always been that He might speak to her spirit and give her rest. 💔
So sorry to hear that, NJ. What sadness for you and her family. We have a good God, and I am sure He is with her in ways we cannot know. Prayers for you.
NJ, I, too, am sad to hear this news. It is like sandpaper on my soul to hear the aspiration part because that was why my brother was no able to take anything by mouth, food or water, due to aspiration risk. Bless you, NJ, as you have suffered trauma over your friend’s situation. May God soon give you a great sense of peace. May your friend always be remembered for who she was to you before and may this unfortunate version in the shell of her body no longer hold prominence in you mind and heart. Prayers for God’s gracious comfort to be with all who are hurting as they go through this time of drawn out loss.
